Office Word 2010 table of contents problem

    Hello,

I'm trying to make a table of contents.

    I Chapter
    1.1
    1.2
    1.3
    II Chapter
    2.1
    2.2

    e.t.c.

I use the heading style for chapters and heading 2 for subsections.

My problem is that in the second chapter, the numbering of the subsections starts with 1.4. It is not possible to manually set 2.1 and from what I see in various instructions, it should be done automatically.

What should I do to make the list look like in the given example?

    best regards

division of sections does not help, there is a continuous numbering next.

now something more specific. I did test and it works. However, only in the case when I give the numbering, i.e.:

    1.
    1.1
    1.2
    2.
    2.1
    2.2

However, I want it to be Chapter I, Chapter II instead of 1 and 2

But I don't know what your problem is?

    You select multi-level numbering
there definition... and set accordingly what you want. (in your case for the second level you turn on Arabic and that's it).

Managed to. For nothing I could do so that the chapters were Roman numerals. When I wanted to do this, the subsections automatically did the following: I.1 etc.

    Your file helped.

    THANKS!!!
