My problem is as follows: I connect the headphones to the computer and they do not work good something strange I think I will turn on the amplifier but nothing is playing from it, only the sound on the HDMI cable comes to the monitor. ? It's a bit stupid to listen to music from the monitor.
Graphics card - AMD Raedon HD 6700 Series
    Motherboard - G31mX-S2

Which device is selected as the default for audio playback in the audio settings?

    What operating system?
The colleague did not understand. Dra 98 asked what you got set in:
Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Sounds and Audio Devices-> Tab 'Audio'

You should have set up there
    Output: Realtek audio output.
    Input: Realtek audio input.

    Now the stairs begin.
If you have properly installed the chipset from the motherboard DVD and the Realtek drivers from that DVD, you should have the file RTHDCPL.exe which runs on system startup and turns on the mixer.
In turn, the alcmtr.exe file, which should also start at startup, detects the moment when you connect the minijack to the card. Then the balloon "Socket has been connected" should be displayed.
If this is not the case, use a Realtek mixer - such an emerald window. In it, set the headphones as a device. output and see if it is included in the diagram - green minijack hole. :D
Give screenshots from the mixer tabs best.
Maybe you have a tick in the sound output option on the front panel?
In the system registry it is possible to disable minijack detection, it seems "DJdetect = 0" somehow.
Realtek and helm to him = bane.
Let me know what and how.

I only understood, maybe I wrote incorrectly in the output, I have 2 options to choose from and when I set Realtek HD Audio output, there is no sound from the amplifier and headphones, and in the monitor it sounds and when I set ATI HD Audio rear output, it happens the same.
I have the RTHDCPL.exe file and the mixer is starting. I also have alcmtr.exe because when I connect the headphones or the amplifier, a window appears

All the sounds of windows can be heard, for example, this music at the beginning, as is welcome. My system is Windows xp Home Edition (Service Pack 3)

The rest of the sounds in windows can also be heard, e.g. warnings, opening folders , do you not hear sounds anymore?
In which programs, then, you cannot hear the sound?

I understand that the headphones are on the front panel, the amplifier is on the rear panel?
I would disable this digital output "No S / PDIF output" and these microphone effects. Noise suppression, acoustic echo cancellation - I know this is seemingly pointless advice, but there are so many bugs in these Realtek controls that you never know.

It looks as if something mutes the "wave" channel after entering the system.

Plan B: at the bottom you have such "and" there is the version of the rudders.
Hope you installed realtek headsets EXACTLY from your motherboard DVD?
Write down what it was on a piece of paper and try to install other headsets, e.g. from the GB support site for this disc.

Please specify which program is not playing, as often in the settings they require \ select the audio source if there is more than one.

After turning the computer off and on, the effect is completely opposite, the monitor is off and the headphones and the amplifier sound, I will add that the amplifier was still on when the computer was turned on.

What activities did you do before the reset since last post?

Nothing is playing Youtube windows media player. If the graphics card has a hdmi input and you use it, this may be the reason for this. Can I have the sound from the monitor and the amplifier at the same time?

    Added after 19 [seconds]:

    I was doing nothing

These types of bugs are specific to realtek "cards". Some users (like me) already know that these "cards" can be "humanly" controlled only by manual control ... of the system registry.
If you don't want to try other controls, you can crash alcmtr.exe from startup and manually edit the "JDEnable = 0" register. Then the outputs / inputs can be manually set and that can help. To tell you the truth, it's a nerve for the realteka. Isn't it better to buy a SB for PLN 80?
ps. I do not rule out that the problem may be hardware.

Can it be because of realtek that not all loudspeakers sound nice in the computer and everything is beautiful on the phone?

And when I have the SB, the other one does not need to be uninstalled somehow because I think I will find SB in the garage somewhere :D

Why should the author turn off the hdmi sound if he wants to use it? Please read the topic carefully.

Hello, you have two sound cards and you insert the third

What '2 sound cards'? Realtek can hardly be called a sound angle, SB Live will play at least twice as well, and you call the sound from the graphics card a "sound card"?

    no!
I am asking for a minimum degree of diligence and no linking to websites with drivers for Windows ME, 2000 and 3.11 !!!!!
After all, it is known, even though my colleague pahox, of course, did not deign to mention that we are dealing with XP!

I don't know that, but that's what I meant with turning off the hdmi sound.

Because it is a sound card, the fact that it gives way to SB Live does not mean that it is not suitable for listening

Maybe I'm exaggerating too, but as I read that:

then I wonder which is better for listening - a telephone or a realtek :D
Forgive me, maybe I'm cut for realteki just ...

Topic summary

The user is experiencing issues with audio output from their computer, specifically with headphones and an amplifier connected to an AMD Radeon HD 6700 graphics card and a G31mX-S2 motherboard. Despite setting the Realtek HD Audio output as the default device, sound only plays through the HDMI connection to the monitor. Various troubleshooting steps are suggested, including checking audio settings, ensuring the correct drivers are installed, and disabling conflicting audio outputs. The user notes that after restarting the computer, the audio output behavior changes, sometimes allowing sound through the headphones and amplifier. Discussions also touch on the potential need for a dedicated sound card, such as a Sound Blaster, to resolve persistent audio issues.
