These are polarized glasses. Check if they work in this video:

The fact that the glasses are "colorless", or actually a little tinted, proves that they are passive polarized glasses.
You can go with them to the 3D cinema, or use them with 3D TVs with passive 3D, e.g. LG or Bush.
Maybe there are laptops with such technology, but I personally have not come across one.
Unlike the anaglyph 3D (red and blue) images that can be seen on any hardware, these glasses will only work with a specific TV.

    hey Arnoldziq,

I came to the forum because I have the same problem as the friend who started this topic.
I have a Philips 3D TV and passive glasses with tinted transparent glasses (plastic of course). It works on TV.
I also have an HP laptop with an NVidia Quadro K1100M graphics card that has 3D options in the settings. I have Power DVD 13 with 3D. When I upload a 3D movie, the program overlays these 2 images on top of each other, but the glasses do not work.

From your statement, it appears that it is the fault of the glasses that will not work.

The question is what passive glasses will work with a laptop?
or maybe only active glasses are an option?

    Thanks for the info.

    Regards

I understand that now we are talking about a movie displayed on a laptop monitor?

I understand that a colleague uses it to display a 3D movie from a Bluray disc?

I vehemently deny that any such thing was implied from my statement.

You would have to look for this information in the manual of the laptop and graphics card you have.

Personally, I have no idea, as I've never used such equipment.

I can only comment on topics that I have any idea about, so as for the configuration of this particular laptop in 3D, I will not help.
There are several standards for displaying a 3D image (if not a dozen) and each displays a 3D image using different equipment (read: glasses). I am a happy owner of passive 3D in LG and Bush TVs and without any problems all glasses from both TVs work interchangeably. I can also use glasses bought at the cinema. I suspect the same passive system is used in your TV.
What 3D system is used in the graphics card in your laptop, the manual will probably tell you best. Also, whether this "3D capability" is available on the laptop screen or only after connecting it via HDMI to the TV, it should also be determined by reading the manual.

Ok, thank you very much for your quick reply.
It seems that the topic is deeper than I thought ... I'll let it go for now and use the TV for 3D movies.

Have a nice day, best regards,

@TristanFazzi , Your graphics card allows you to watch in 3D, but these are not passive (polarized) glasses, but active (flap) glasses.

You can read more about Nivida's 3D Vision technology here:
    http://www.nvidia.pl/object/3d-vision-technology-pl.html

The price is prohibitive, in my opinion, the fun is not worth the candle.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the compatibility of passive polarized glasses purchased for cinema use with laptops for watching 3D movies. Users clarify that the glasses are designed for passive 3D systems, which are typically found in 3D TVs like those from LG and Bush, and may not work with laptops unless they support similar technology. One user mentions having an HP laptop with an NVidia Quadro K1100M graphics card, which has 3D options but does not support passive glasses. The conversation highlights the distinction between passive and active 3D glasses, with the latter being necessary for certain laptops. Users suggest checking the laptop's manual for compatibility and express that using a 3D TV may be a more viable option for viewing 3D content.
