Hello. I have a decoder Nbox , the decoder is working, I wanted to connect it to a new antenna in another apartment.
New 80 cup (ellipse, egg), new converter black premium selected single 40mm lnb , new converter mount and wall mount, cable, new connectors.

The problem is that the signal strength is 90-100% and the quality and BER are 0%.
The converter is new, so theoretically if it was damaged, the signal strength would be 0%.
What should I do, the angle of the canopy 30 ', I set the canopy left and right and I can't hit at all, I set it according to instructions from NC +, my location is Parczew, Lubelskie.
Configuration without DiSEqC, second head off, I have a single converter.

Do you have a vertical mast? Besides, it is only indicative. As you can see, reading alone is not enough. Experience is still needed.

Everything would be fine if the mast was perfectly vertical, and it certainly is not.
So it should be upright and not that would be good. I use a spirit level for this.

I have the handle on the side wall, when I screwed it on, I used a spirit level.

I caught the signal, there is a point that the quality jumped 14-30 when I turned the dish more steadily that it did not move, at this point it caught 98% signal strength and 60% quality

I am surprised and worried that at this antenna position the BER value is 0%
    a STRENGTH 90-98% and QUALITY 60%
    Why is BER zero?

The channels are rather all, there are probably no channels that I do not have in the package,
I got a message that I was connected to the Hotbrid satellite.
What does the BER ratio give you?

Bit Error Ratio (BER). The BER bit error rate is a parameter that determines the quality and reception of digitally broadcast programs (e.g. with QPSK modulation, which is used in the DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) system). In practice, it must be greater than 10-3 for the reception to be possible at all, while the value of 10-9 guarantees perfect reception, which corresponds roughly to the C / N value of 7 dB and 12 dB respectively.
A bit error rate of 10-9 means that only one in a billion of transmitted bits may be misrepresented. Due to the use of FEC (Forward Error Correction), the BER value to ensure correct reception quality is variable. The measurement is made with a meter with a special BER measurement function.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user experiencing zero signal quality despite having a signal strength of 90-100% on their Nbox decoder connected to a new antenna setup for Hotbird satellite reception. The user has installed a new 80 cm elliptical dish, a black premium single 40mm LNB, and new connectors, but is unable to achieve a satisfactory Bit Error Ratio (BER). Responses suggest checking the vertical alignment of the mast, adjusting the dish angle, and using a spirit level for accuracy. The importance of BER in assessing signal quality is also highlighted, with values needing to be below 10-3 for acceptable reception. The user reports some improvement in quality after adjusting the dish but remains concerned about the BER being zero.
