    Good morning

I tried today to improve the antenna setting on Hotbird using an NC + decoder near Alicante, Spain.

The problem is that I still have 0% strength on the decoder, while the quality is up to 70%. Whatever I did with the antenna, the strength never increased. Interestingly, after accepting the settings, the decoder has downloaded the list of programs, and the TV can only watch some HD pixels.

The antenna is about 80 cm with NC + oval while the decoder with NC + model ITI-3740SX

Does anyone calm down with this situation and can I improve the reception somehow?

    best regards

    Marcin

Force zero? This is a problem on the cable or a damaged converter.

Improve the bowl setting, replace the cable, converter. There are no obstacles?

I replaced the cable with the best one I was able to get here (17db, triple shielded loss). Strength jumped to 15%.

Antenna settings I can maximally achieve 15% strength and 67-70% quality.

    There are no obstacles.

Unfortunately, I do not have a converter to change, I would have to buy a new one, but I'm not sure if I can buy a converter without a canopy here.

Do you think converter to replace?

Is it also possible to cut at such levels? If so, you need to substitute the converter.

Maybe the canopy deformed? Try with these parameters what you have to bend, tilt, press down the perimeter tightened canopy. See if changing the position of the converter in the handle changes something. (Up, down, front back, etc. - loose converter) Vertical antenna and converter skew correct?

The bowl cannot be deformed because the quality is good. @LeDy You write these things out ...? The problem with strength is an "electrical" problem. How long is this cable?

Pi ..... stupidity. What I write is my case, based on experience.
    Either check it or not.

Poor strength with such quality has nothing to do with the position of the antenna. Cable attenuation, damaged converter or decoder.

Thank you all for your help.

I exchanged the converter for one with Leroy Merlin universal for 8 euros. As I wrote earlier, I also replaced the antenna cable.

After these treatments I have 95% strength and 64% quality. The image is crystalline on all HD channels.

    Thank you again
