I have had this tablet for a year, but only now such problems have arisen. When I connect the tablet to the charger, the message "Charging 23%" does not appear on the screen. On the other hand, in the battery symbol there is a white lightning struck through red. The problem arose when I left the tablet at home for 3 hours, forgetting to plug it in (it was about 15% or less). After returning, while loading as always, I started watching videos on youtube. Despite plugging in, the battery was discharging instead of charging. I decided to leave it overnight, thinking everything would work in the morning. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Can it be fixed somehow? I only determined that it was the fault of the tablet itself. ; /

What is the current consumption when charging.

This tablet must be charged with an original (high-performance) charger. Anything else will result in such a symbol. The charger for it gives 5V / 2000mA and these are the appropriate parameters. I've experimented with different ones with negative results. However, I would have a look at the charger itself.

    Who said it wasn't used?
Shadowka  Leave it under the charger for at least 8 hours without watching anything or turning on the tablet.

    Who said it wasn't used?

But no one has confirmed the 100% efficiency of the charger itself.

Unfortunately, chargers like to break. I was also looking for problems in the hardware itself, but it turned out to be the charger.

Besides, the connector. The "certainty" of the contacts of the connector itself is important. Two positive and a few negative "charging" contacts are responsible for charging.

Don't be mislead, there are 6 wires of two of each type. (2x + 2xGND and 2xtemp)

And these 2xtemp are where in the charger are they connected, if you can know? Because I counted four masses - 1,2,15 and 30.

I was thinking about the battery :) . Sorry, you are right there are more cables in the plug.

You're right, the charger is genuine, but it's not her fault. Fortunately, the charging problem is partially resolved; the tablet is charging, but it still takes a lot longer than it used to, and discharges terribly fast.

It is similar with me. The problem probably lies with the intensive use of the tablet - my son uses it a lot and the battery wears out much faster than before and the charging time is similar to when the tablet was new. Sometimes I have to reinsert the charging plug for the tablet to start charging properly.

Hello, I don't know if there is a section here to say hello, so I'm doing it here, unfortunately connecting to the topic.
I have a similar problem as in the above topic, I have been using the SGT2 7.0 tablet for about 2.5 years recently, he asked me to connect the charger, unfortunately I waited until the last moment and it turned off, when I tried to hook up to landing, the tablet did not get up anymore, it does not show absolutely nothing on the screen, no icon. I read about chargers, cables, the charger is working, the phone is charging, the cable is also x-rayed, I dismantled the plug 4 cables soldered into the plate on the black and red there is 5V, unfortunately no response. I also read about leaving the tablet alone under the charger, for me it was about 50 hours under the charger, also to no avail. I went to the store wanting to buy a new charger, connected and then nothing, a 2A charger. There was nothing else but to throw off the back cover and check the battery, before the entire charging cycle, the battery showed 3.4V, after connecting the charger, the voltage does not change, no charging, I thought that something fell deeper. I took out the battery and connected it to the laboratory power supply to charge it, after about 2 hours the battery returned to the tablet, the POWER button and surprisingly the tablet came alive, as if nothing had happened, so the charger quickly, unfortunately no response to charging. A quick jump to the charger store and reconnecting another charger did not help either.

The tablet is working, it starts up, the battery is not swollen, I do not know what to do, whether to continue looking for the reasons in the charger, cable, or maybe the battery charging system has died, you have any idea how to solve the problem to start charging.

Many issues were raised in the thread. I am only interested in why the galaxy used when connected to the power supply consumes more electricity than it draws from this power supply. However, this is probably a technical error.

@lenartm I know she's digging up the cutlet, but has she solved her problem with not charging Samsung? I have exactly this problem. I have replaced the batteries, it is not charging, I have connected a different charging module, it is not charging. I tested on different chargers and different cables: - /

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, specifically regarding charging problems. Users report that the tablet does not display the "Charging 23%" message when connected to the charger, and instead shows a white lightning symbol struck through red. The problem began after the tablet was left uncharged for a period, leading to rapid battery discharge despite being plugged in. Several users suggest that the issue may stem from using non-original chargers, as the tablet requires a high-performance charger (5V / 2000mA) for proper functionality. Recommendations include leaving the tablet connected to the charger for extended periods and checking the charger and battery for faults. Some users have experienced similar issues, indicating that battery wear and charger malfunctions are common problems with this device.
