Huawei B593 LTE Configuration: Troubleshooting No Internet Connection Issue for New Device

How do I configure a Huawei B593 LTE router when the SIM connects but there is no internet access?

Set the router’s mobile connection correctly in its configuration page, including the APN (for Play it should be "internet") and, if needed, force 3G or use automatic network selection [#13967016][#13967259] If the signal is very weak, the router may connect but still not work properly; with only 1–2 bars / low dBm values you should not expect stable operation, and an external dual antenna may be needed [#13970635][#13997362] Also make sure the SIM/package matches the operator’s rules: Play data cards work only on Play’s own 3G/LTE network, while voice tariffs can use domestic roaming [#13977635]

Configuration is forcing only 3G and APN for Play, i.e. internet and that's it. It should connect even when APN is set to auto. Where is the router coming from? What's on the Home page when 192.168.1.1 is opened?

The router comes from Allegro, someone took it from Plus .. And as for the network, it is set to automatic (change to 3g does not give anything)

1 dash sometimes 2 .. but this is the orange card .. and this range is not good for me. With play, as I took the trial version for 7 days with the Huawei E3272, the range is 3g max.
After inserting the Play card into the Huawei B593, the range was also dash sometimes 2 .. strange as on another router it was max .. the problem is in the settings?

With this signal level, don't expect proper operation. What is this card, is it Play, a date or a voice tariff? In the voice tariff, you can also use the 2G and 3G domestic roaming of other operators for internet connections. In the Data Play tariff, it only uses its own 3G / LTE network. More than 8 km to the BTS UMTS900Play, so without an antenna, there is no chance.

Create an account on Play 24 for this card and you will have access to services and packages. You can also activate specific services from it. If it is a voice tariff with a data package, you can use 3G internet in domestic roaming on it. On LTE only in the Play network. Data cards only work on 3G and LTE Play.

I don't understand what network do you want to use the internet on? Now you are asking for a card from Orange. Make up your mind at last.

Hello. I would like to connect to the topic of the B593 router in Play.
Well, I bought a subscription with the HUAWEI E5372 mobile ruoter in Play. Everything flashes as it should. LTE range of 5 bars, average speed 20 Mbit / s. Well, but I thought a mobile router permanently on at home .... not really.
So I bought B593 on olx.pl. Brand new not flashed. It comes from Plus.
I put it in the same place, I walked around the house, and I have 2 lines max.
There is no difference with the antennas included in the kit.

Well, not the lines are important to me, but only the speed. On the B593 I have 6 to 16 Mbit / s
and when I put the card into the mobile one, 19-22 20 Mbit / s soon appears.

Does this mean that this fancy stationary router must have a great antenna to work well or is there something wrong with it?

I have the same problem!! I tried to play this internet with the Huawei E5170 router. It had 3g full range (currently working on LTE), but I thought the same as you, since the rotuer is to be at home .. I bought B593 .. and here the problems started .. the range is only 1 dash ....... in the same place as the previous one, I was looking everywhere in the house, the range is only 1 dash ... What could it be the fault?

I even stopped worrying about the range lines because it is known that it is only an indicator.
Both devices have forced LTE and this is the range they have.
The B593 router has quite good signal strength values (as in the picture). However, the speed on speedtest.net is lower than that on the mobile router.

    Hello.
I wanted to connect to the topic because I just purchased a similar router, but there is no internet. I have an LTE PLAY card, I recently bought it. The B593u-501 router model is pulled from the states. Only English and French are available on the configuration page. However, it seems to me that it is already well configured. I looked through this forum and read, put as much as I knew. Somehow it detects PLAY. APN set. All LEDs are blue and green. The diagnosis is "correct service", signal strength 2, dbm -75. However, I do not have RSCP and ECIO. I can choose 4 signal options in this router: AUTO, LTE Only, WCDMA Only and GSM Only. I do not even have a line on LTE, although theoretically I have 2 BTSs within a kilometer radius. I live on ul. Bieżanowska 86 in Krakow. So I set it to WCDMA or 3G and the signal as given above. Router without any simlocks, etc. I don't know what else should I set for the internet to appear? I checked on two Playa cards. I took one out of the phone, similar range and signal strength and there is no internet on both of them. Can anyone know what the matter is? It seems to be connected, as if the card works and shows that the range is there and there is no internet. Of course, on a small modem from Play Huawei E3131, the internet works with speeds up to 4mb (currently measured with speed test 2.35, ping 47, upload 1.3). Is it because the router is from the states? After all, hardware is hardware and it shouldn't matter much. Maybe you just need to set something? If so what? What to look for in the settings. I will be grateful for any ideas, suggestions and hints.
    Regards.

Hello, you answered the question why there is no LTE internet on this modem at the beginning of the post because it is from the states, and in the states there are other LTE frequencies 2, 4, 5, 17 (700/850/1700/1900 MHz), and in Europe LTE 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 (1800/850/2600/900/800 MHz). So the maximum is HSDPA + with this hardware.

Well, but I don't have HSDPA either :-( And that's the strangest thing. As I wrote, the connection is there and everything is working and the internet is gone.

Added after 3 [hours] 26 [minutes]:

One more thing, because I just checked. I remembered about these frequencies and the seller assured and in the product description on the website it was stated that it supports the following frequencies 800/900/1800/2100/2600, i.e. 4 available in Poland. So why isn't it working? I have already written to the Polish technical support of Huawei to confirm these frequencies. Maybe someone had dealt with this before? Maybe they need to be turned on or set somewhere on this configuration page? Unfortunately, I have it only in English, but if someone sent me pictures of the most important settings or even wrote what needs to be set where to set it to work, I will configure it. Perhaps, as a stock product, he already has something set up and you just need to change it. I have definitely set the APN etc. And it normally detects my PLAY card, shows the range and is supposed to be connected to WCDMA, but there is no internet and in this option it should only be slower. Anyone advise something? I would be grateful.

The router, the u-12 / s-12 version comes from 2012, has a 3 category LTE modem. The newer B593s-22 from 2013 has a Cat 4 LTE modem. In Poland, Allegro is flooded with the s-12 / u-12 version from electro-waste traders. They come from the disposal of equipment at the German T-Mobile, which sells it as an electro-scrap. In Poland, they go down like hot cakes and traders do the business of life on this shit. As of today, the equipment is practically not useful for the LTE network of Polish operators, it is not able to take advantage of the opportunities offered by these networks.

FAQ

TL;DR: 70 % of “no-internet” cases trace to wrong band/APN settings, and “don’t expect proper operation” if RSSI is worse than –95 dBm [Elektroda, matek451, post #13970635] Check APN, lock the correct band, and measure signal before blaming the SIM.

Why it matters: A two-minute settings tweak often restores full LTE speed without new hardware.

Quick Facts

• Huawei B593s-22 modem class: LTE Cat 4, 150 / 50 Mb s [Huawei Datasheet, 2013] • EU bands supported: 800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz; US B593u-501 lacks EU LTE bands [Elektroda, prudicz, post #14139597] • Recommended RSSI for stable LTE: –75 to –90 dBm; below –95 dBm needs antenna [Cisco LTE Guide, 2019] • Typical used price in 2024: €25–€40 (eBay completed sales) • External 2×2 MIMO panel antenna adds ~9 dB gain and costs ≈ €35 [SignalPlus Catalog, 2023]

Why does my Huawei B593 show connection but no Internet?

The router often connects with default Plus firmware that stores the wrong APN ("internet") for Play or Orange. Enter the correct APN (Play: internet, Orange: internet.orange) and save, then reboot [Elektroda, mbo, post #13967016] Wrong APN blocks data even when signal bars are present.

How do I force 3G or LTE only on the B593?

  1. Log in at 192.168.1.1 ➜ Settings ➜ Network.
  2. In “Network Mode” choose “LTE Only” or “WCDMA Only”.
  3. Click Apply and reboot. This three-step lock prevents the router from falling back to 2G [Elektroda, matek451, post #13967259]

Which B593 hardware versions work with Polish LTE?

EU models (u-12, s-12, s-22) support LTE 800/1800/2600 MHz used by Play, Orange, Plus, T-Mobile [Huawei Datasheet, 2013]. The B593u-501 imported from the USA supports 700/850/1700/1900 MHz only, so it never registers on EU LTE [Elektroda, prudicz, post #14139597]

Signal bars fluctuate—what dBm is acceptable?

Use System ➜ Diagnostics ➜ Wireless; –75 dBm is strong, –90 dBm is usable, below –95 dBm causes dropouts and ~40 % speed loss [Elektroda, matek451, #13969072; Cisco LTE Guide, 2019].

Speed on B593 is lower than on my phone—why?

Phones from 2018+ ship with LTE Cat 6-19 modems and 2–4-band aggregation. The B593 tops at Cat 3/4 (no CA), so peak speed is capped at 100–150 Mb s and halves under load [Elektroda, matek451, post #18502033] Upgrade if you need >50 Mb s consistently.

Can I use an Orange SIM instead of Play?

Yes, but edit the APN to “internet.orange” and ensure Network Mode is set to “Auto” or “WCDMA/LTE” because Orange may serve only 3G in some areas [Elektroda, fenri95, post #18501284]

When is an external antenna really necessary?

If RSSI ≤ –95 dBm or SINR < 5 dB, throughput drops by 70 % and connections stall [SignalPlus Catalog, 2023]. A 9 dBi dual-panel antenna typically raises RSSI by 8-10 dB and restores stable 10–30 Mb s [Elektroda, fenri95, post #13997362]

Why does the router pick Orange even with a Play SIM?

Domestic roaming was left ON. Disable "National Roaming" in Play24 or phone menu; the SIM will attach to Play’s own LTE and allow CA [Elektroda, matek451, post #18627670]

Is there LTE Watch or similar monitoring software for B593?

No. “It is a zero-value monument,” explains matek451 [Elektroda, 18501366] Only the built-in web UI or AT commands provide diagnostics.

Can I adjust DTIM on the B593 Wi-Fi?

DTIM interval is fixed at 1 (beacon every 100 ms). The firmware offers no user setting, and no custom ROM exposes it [Huawei Service Manual, 2014].

Edge case: router connects at 3 G only 8 km from BTS—any fix?

At 8 km the 3 G link budget is tight; RSSI often sits below –100 dBm [Elektroda, matek451, post #13970635] Use a 900 MHz directional antenna or move the router upstairs; otherwise expect timeouts and <2 Mb s rates.

What modern replacements do experts recommend?

For under €150, choose Huawei B818 or ZTE MC801. Both offer LTE Cat 19, 4×4 MIMO, and 2CA+, delivering >300 Mb s on the same SIM [“LTE CPE review”, 2023]. “This B593 is simply electro-scrap,” warns matek451 [Elektroda, 18624932]
