Hi, I have a problem with the 2.0 TDI engine code CAHA, 170KM, CR injection.

Engine idling sometimes runs erratically - looks like misfire. The problem appears most often after stopping, for example, at traffic lights. When idling for a long time, the engine runs smoothly, after a few minutes the ignition starts to misfire and then runs smoothly again. The owner says the problem occurs more often when the fuel level in the tank is low.

The car had this problem in one workshop, all the injectors were replaced there (for used ones). Nothing has changed.

There are no errors in the controller, all current parameters look ok.

The injectors used are not always good. Let them make overflow tests and it will be known.

Transfers from 4 to 5 ml per minute on each injector.

I noticed that the easiest way to cause a problem at a standstill is a short gassing. After the engine comes off the revs, there is a moment of uneven work.

While viewing the current parameters, you can notice pressure fluctuations in the rail. The pressure increases and decreases once, then it stabilizes and the engine runs smoothly.

Jumping pressure is a symptom of a crashing pump cr.

Or damage to the drv, the dispenser and the pressure sensor on the ramp.

The vibrations are particularly bright in the region from 11 to 16 seconds and from 41 to 50. The photos probably show everything.

    Hello
I have the same engine and I am writing an inquiry. Have you had engine vibrations and RPM fluctuations during this unequal engine operation?

Because I was at home this morning at +1.5 C, I noticed that the engine seems to work evenly, i.e. the idle speed is stable, it does not vibrate, but the engine has vibrations. I can hear and feel him sitting in the seat, on the gear lever ... I don't know what is. Fire up, he fired up ok without a hitch ... The rotation does not wave ... but there are vibrations and I can feel it on the kennel and sitting, and on the lever and steering wheel. Please help.

I also have this engine, it looks like a clutch is ending, you can also try the "Liqui moly diesel spulung" preparation, it supposedly affects the smooth operation of the engine.

Is there a slight tingling that ends the clutch? Yes, there are no problems with the gearbox ... uphill, it accelerates ok in high gear and does not slip ...

I have the same CAHA engine and after firing it will melt for a while, probably the fault is one glow plug burned because there is a bug from it. So this topic is worth checking out. My car has already been repaired after filings occurred. It seems to drive nice, but hears a hum under the front passenger seat, i.e. the fuel pump. I have already replaced it with the second used one and the same. My hands fall.

I suggest starting with the valve on the pump. Alternatively, try to get a second one for a change.
If the pressure drops on the CR, it is usually the culprit. There is also a defect of the high pressure pump, but these are individual cases. For me, this valve / sensor or whatever it is called was to blame.

I propose to adapt the new one, or even the old one. The car even twitches, the revolutions are constant. You can also replace a thousand new sensors, without adaptation it will be the same. good luck.

Buddy, write how to make this adaptation? Because probably most of them cannot find it

Hi. I have replaced the valve on the common rail, but without any adaptation. The fuel pressure continues to jump strangely, I will take care of the valve on the pump and check the pressure sensor on the rail. Are any valve adaptations required that I missed that would help to compensate for vibrations at idle?

They are not needed, but there is such an option in vcds in Adaptations.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with a 2.0 TDI engine (CAHA, 170 KM) experiencing uneven idling and misfires, particularly noticeable at traffic lights and when fuel levels are low. Despite replacing the injectors with used ones, the problem persists. Participants suggest conducting overflow tests on the injectors, measuring compression pressure, and checking the fuel pressure on the rail. Fluctuations in rail pressure are noted as a potential symptom of a failing high-pressure pump or issues with the pressure sensor. Other suggestions include inspecting the valve on the pump and considering adaptations for new or old components to stabilize engine performance. Some users report similar experiences, indicating a broader issue with this engine type.
