The laser is really no different than any other laser pointer as far as brightness. It does feel well made, but it rattles if moved at all because the batteries are not fit to the casing. You can remedy this by placing 1 or 2 layers of paper rolled around the cylinder that the batteries go in. I have used it for several days now and the batteries (the real cheap ones that come with it) have not worn out at all. Good product to buy, but I can't say great because of the lack of care in fitting the batteries. _ puissantlaser.com
