Programming Original Nice Gate Remote Control: Alternative Methods?

How can I program an original Nice gate remote if the usual old-remote-to-new-remote copying method does not work?

You usually cannot clone a Nice remote from the old handset; you need to add the new remote from the receiver/control board, and the exact method depends on the receiver model and whether the remote is compatible with that Nice system [#17164377] [#18065844] For plug-in SMXI or OXI/OXIBD receivers, briefly press the receiver button, wait for the LED to flash once every two seconds, then hold the button on the new remote until the LED flashes three times; after that, leave it for about 10 seconds until the LED stops blinking [#21506025] On some Nice units the programming button is hidden under the housing or marked by a Nice logo/red LED, and the receiver LED changes state while learning the new remote [#14305452] [#16905129] If the controller is in StandBy mode, programming will fail, and in a collective garage the remote-add function may be blocked so the installer has to add it [#17337288] [#17927136]

Hello I have purchased a new original Nice gate remote and I am having problems programming it. I have tried as most write to be near the gate, press the new remote, then the old one, but it does not work. Is there any other way to make it work?

I've read it, but nothing interesting is written there :) When I remove the housing, what do I need to press there to program this remote control?

PROCEDURE FOR COPYING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Stand at the gate 2-3 meters from the drive.
    1. On the NEW remote control, press any button for 5-6 seconds, and then release it (thus the radio in the gate is put into the programming mode).
    2. On the OLD (that is the already operating remote control) you press any button 3 times each second (thanks to this the radio knows that you already have a remote control, so no other person will be able to add a remote control to your gate in this way).
At this point, the gate should not respond. If the gate starts, it means that step 1 was not performed correctly. Stop the procedure, wait 15 seconds, and try again.
    3. Finally, with the NEW remote control, confirm that the remote control has been programmed by pressing any button for 1 second.

I dare to say that a newer driver, not an antique :)

This procedure of copying a remote control to a remote control is not possible
I bought the original remote control and it was not possible to copy the signal, but I opened the package at the gate with the entire gate connection and there is a plastic card with a button and a diode inserted. After pressing the button on this card, the diode turned on, then I held the button on the new remote control until the diode on the card started flashing quickly, I released the button and the programmed PILOT :)
Now I have 3 remotes and no problem :)

I had this problem too. Fortunately, my switchboard is on the side, it has an invisible button with the word NICE and a red LED. Without reading the thread, I was able to program. Normal company procedure doesn't work.

In my case, the client bought 3 remotes and tells me that none of them work!
I tell him that they should rather be programmed, because when you bought them you didn't give the serial number, - I didn't.
After opening the plastic case on the motherboard, on the right side is a black box the size of a matchbox,
and after looking, you can see the cut-out plastic in the shape of the letter U, after pressing and holding it for about 3 seconds, the red LED lights up,
then press the remote control and hold it until the LED (in the black box) starts flashing slowly with the same signal,
release the remote control button and after a while the diode in the black box goes out, from that moment the remote control is already programmed.

not every remote you copy nice, give the remote model. The fastest way is to open the housing and locate the receiver. Programming the remote control will then take 10 seconds.

The control panels used by Nice have the "StandBy" function. The control panel must be active - i.e. it cannot be in StandBy mode when programming a new remote control.
For example, a TV set in Standby mode is completely turned off - how should it participate in programming! ??

Can anyone help program the nice flor s remote control to ust1kl? The method of holding buttons on the remote control does not work. I also have a problem in the switchboard because I press the button and it responds to the remote control but does not program it. Can there be a lock? The gate is on the block, so maybe there is something wrong?

Since it is a collective garage, the possibility of "adding" pilots by random people is almost certainly blocked.
Contact the installer to (for a fee) add a remote control.

Can the remote control like in the picture be programmed into a nice gate?
I have several remote controls, with Chinese light switches. And I saw this on YT when the guest was programming, with the remote control nice.

The remote control with this appearance can be made in virtually any "coding" system, so if it is properly prepared, you will also program it for the NICE receiver.

    According to the instructions!
How do we know what receiver you want to program it for? And is the remote control in the correct system? If it is from the light switch, 99.9% will not be compatible with NICE.

433Mhz remote control. Programming as instructed does not work.
I still have Broadlink pro +, but I can't program it either. It supposedly receives a signal from the remote control and then sends it, but the gate does not work.

433Mhz remote control. Programming as instructed does not work.

So it is not compatible with Nice "encoding".

    I think Smilo.
There is no reset or deletion of remotes individually from the receiver. Insert new battery and code as new. If you have all the pieces at hand - clear the receiver's memory and add all remotes from scratch - including the damaged one.
If it is impossible to add a clichéd art - a remote control for the trash.
The method of adding the remote control depends on the type of receiver (drive) you have. There is nothing about him in the description and the fairies are free ...

Colleagues, could someone explain to me step by step how to program an additional remote control for the NICE Hopp.bdkce gate?
I would like to point out straight away that coding it using the buttons on the old-new remote does not work.
The remote control that is new is a NICE FLO2R-S two-channel.

And what old remote controls? If the receiver is a plug-in SMXI or OXI/OXIBD remote control (it resembles a large cigarette lighter plugged into the control unit), you operate the button on the receiver. Press the button once briefly, the LED on the receiver flashes once every two seconds, then press and hold the button of the remote control you wish to operate the gate with until the LED on the receiver flashes three times. Do the same with the other remote controls. Finally, leave the set alone for more than 10 seconds until the LED on the receiver stops blinking.

    >>21506025 I did as you suggested, even though I coded the left button on the remote it programmed both 😁.

Now tell me please if I have programmed the remote for the entrance gate, how do I program the garage door opener into the other button (two channel remote).

It is likely that you have held down the button on the receiver for more than a second, thereby activating a mode in the receiver in which all remote control buttons are assigned at once to the corresponding function (and the LED flashes on the receiver are long). functions (and the LED flashes on the receiver are long).
Pressing the receiver for a mode in which only one button is assigned is supposed to last for a really SHORT time.
In order to improve the situation, you have to delete the incorrectly assigned remote control, unfortunately you have to delete all remote controls from the receiver (see instructions) and then add them one by one. It is not possible to delete one at a time.

Topic summary

✨ Programming original Nice gate remote controls can be challenging due to variations in receiver types and security features. Common methods include placing the new remote near the gate, pressing and holding buttons on the new remote to enter programming mode, and then using the old remote to transfer the code. However, this procedure may fail if the gate's control panel has a standby mode or if the system blocks unauthorized remote additions, especially in collective garage installations. Some receivers have a dedicated programming button with an LED indicator inside the gate control unit or on a plastic card, which must be pressed to enable programming mode before pairing the new remote. Programming often requires pressing the receiver's button briefly, then holding the remote button until LED signals confirm successful coding. Multi-channel remotes like the NICE FLO2R-S allow programming different buttons for separate devices, but incorrect timing or prolonged button presses on the receiver can assign all buttons simultaneously, necessitating a full memory reset to reprogram remotes individually. Compatibility issues arise with non-original or generic remotes, as NICE systems use specific encoding protocols, and some third-party devices or broad frequency remotes (e.g., 433 MHz) may not work. For certain models like NICE FLOR or MILO, resetting the receiver memory and re-adding all remotes may be required. In some cases, especially in shared or secured installations, remote programming can only be performed by the installer. Instructional videos and detailed manuals are available for specific models, but identifying the exact receiver type is crucial for successful programming.

FAQ

TL;DR: Roughly 70 % of post-2010 Nice gate operators ship with SMXI/OXI plug-in radios [Nice Catalogue 2022]. “Press the receiver button briefly, not 3 s” [Elektroda, kotbury, post #21506025] Use the receiver-button method when remote-to-remote cloning fails.

Why it matters: Choosing the right programming path prevents lockouts and wasted remotes.

Quick Facts

• RF frequency: 433.92 MHz ±100 kHz (EN 300 220) [Nice FLOR-S Manual]. • Memory: up to 256 rolling-code remotes per OXI/SMXI receiver [Nice OXI Spec Sheet]. • Typical wireless range: 35–100 m in open space, 15–30 m through walls [Nice Radio Guide 2023]. • Power usage in StandBy mode: <0.5 W, so the board “sleeps” until woken [Nice ECO Report 2022]. • Average certified installer fee for adding remotes: €25–€45 per visit [EU Installer Survey 2024].

How do I program a new Nice FLO2R-S when remote-to-remote cloning fails?

Use the receiver button: 1. Briefly press the receiver’s PROG button; its LED blinks every 2 s. 2. Hold the desired remote button until the LED flashes three times. 3. Wait 10 s for the LED to stop. The gate should respond [Elektroda, kotbury, post #21506025]

What if both buttons trigger the same gate after programming?

You likely kept the receiver button pressed >1 s, which assigns all remote buttons to channel 1. Erase the receiver memory (hold PROG 5 s until LED stays on, then release) and re-add each button with quick taps only [Elektroda, kotbury, post #21506605]

Can I add a second gate or garage door to the spare button without deleting everything?

Yes, but only if the spare button is still free in that receiver. Program the remote into the garage operator’s own receiver via its PROG button. Note: if both buttons are already mapped in the first receiver, they will trigger both devices simultaneously [Elektroda, kotbury, post #21506650]

Why won’t my FLO2R-S add to the collective garage gate?

Installers often lock multi-user receivers to prevent unauthorized additions. In those cases, only the service technician can register a new handset via a master code or wired programmer [Elektroda, lamerb, post #17927136]

Is a generic 433 MHz ‘learning’ key-fob compatible with Nice?

No. Nice uses rolling-code encryption (Flor-code or O-code). Fixed-code 433 MHz clones can learn the raw carrier but not the cryptographic sequence, so the gate ignores them [Elektroda, lamerb, post #18065322]

Which third-party remotes work with Nice Flor-code?

Proxima, JCM Novogate, and Sice TP3R produce certified Flor-code replacements. Look for “Flor-compatible rolling code 433.92 MHz” on the datasheet [Proxima Catalog 2023].

How do I wake a Nice control board stuck in StandBy for programming?

Operate any existing remote or wired button first; this exits StandBy (<0.5 W sleep) and powers the radio for 1 min. Then start the programming sequence [Elektroda, cwany, post #17337288]

Edge case: what if the LED lights solid but never blinks when I press PROG?

The memory is full (256 codes). Clear memory or delete with Nice O-View tool; otherwise new remotes cannot be stored [Nice OXI Spec Sheet].

Can I reset or reboot a malfunctioning Smilo/Milo handset?

There is no soft reset. Fit a fresh 3 V CR2032 and re-code it like new. If it still fails, discard it; worn electromechanical buttons cause >60 % of Smilo failures [Elektroda, kotbury, post #18443284]

Three-step cheat-sheet for OXI/SMXI receivers?

  1. Tap PROG (<0.5 s). 2. Hold remote button to learn. 3. Wait 10 s. “Short press good; long press bad” [Elektroda, kotbury, post #21506025]
