Hello, my problem is that I have a TP-LINK router and a TP-LINK signal amplifier. If I am connected to the network created by the router, the internet works without a problem, but if I am close to the amplifier (i.e. I am connected to the network created by the amplifier), only sometimes there is internet (while there is no Internet on the network created by the amplifier, then there is no Internet on the network created by the amplifier) through the router everything works). The amplifier can be connected to 1 wired device and when I connect to the console by cable, everything seems to work all the time, but once it works for a laptop, it suddenly turns into an unidentified network, and in a moment it works again. I also have a question: if the amplifier creates a new network, it cannot have a different name than the router's network? I am asking because when I am connected to the network created by the amplifier on the phone and I want to go down, for example, and connect to the router, information pops up (something like that) that there is a duplicate network and that if I want to connect to the router then i need to remove the amplifier net. I'm sick of this, can anyone help?

Without device models, you can't move.

    Router model: TD-W8951ND
    Amplifier Model: TL-WA730RE

The main problem is that the network behaves differently on different devices, but completely correct on none. Everything works beautifully on PS3 via cable, and via wifi probably never connected. On a laptop with Windows 8, via wifi usually does not work (often it does not connect at all, or there is limited connectivity and the internet does not work), and via the cable it works once, sometimes connectivity is limited. On the second laptop, when I'm on the ground floor, everything works through the router's wifi, I'll go upstairs, it automatically changes the network to that created by the amplifier and there is an error that there is limited connectivity. And everything seems to work on the phone, but when I had the amplifier network saved and I go downstairs, it will not connect me to the router's network, because it crashes the "duplicate network".

The first thing is the correct configuration of W8951ND - Link
We configure both radios on devices without 802.11n mode (only b + g). What is your signal level from the main router on the extender? Give a picture with the status of the amplifier.

I don't know anything about it at all, but why should I change the configuration of the router when everything works perfectly on it?

It works perfectly on a computer, by an amplifier, as you can see, not anymore. Well, if you do not want the help of a more experienced person, why do you write on the forum at all?

Ok, ok, I'm just asking. So I have to set everything as it is in the link provided by you?

It's mainly about DNS and configuring the radio without 802.11n mode, then you do save and reboot the router. You also configure the extender without 802.11n mode.
I also asked about the signal level !?

When changing DNS to those from Google, when I click save, nothing happens (I tried on several browsers) - of course, it does not change the settings then. About the signal level, do you mean what is the signal on the laptop without an amplifier? If so, 1 dash.

Check for updates for your router on the manufacturer's website. The model and hardware version are important.

The lines from the windows do not give me anything - Link

In fact, I had the 2013 version, but when I updated to the latest version, I was getting the error: "Uploaded file was rejected by router.". I downloaded a newer one than what I have but not the newest and it went. Later I had another problem, because after updating, when I entered 192.168.1.1, the error: "403 Forbidden" popped up, but it went on Chrome. Finally updated to the latest one. Now I changed DNSs without a problem. I also changed the setting to the same b + g (so far, everything on the router, should I also change on the amplifier?). And this program should I run when I am with the laptop at the router or amplifier?

Yes, you only have to change the speed of the radio on the amplifier.

I think everything is clearly explained in the link?

Only that when I want to enter 192.168.0.254 (amplifier IP), I only have "connection timeout". When I go to 192.168.1.1 (router IP) it all works. Only if I have an amplifier with a laptop connected by a cable, why is it loading the router's configuration page for me, and not the amplifier?

And here is the screen next to the router:
TP-LINK Router & Amplifier Connectivity Issues: Unidentified Networks and Network Naming Options

PS: Since I changed these DNSs and that setting to b + g on the router, the internet on the laptop is still working on the cable (at least for half an hour it has not changed to limited once), but the wifi still does not work. And now the internet has stopped working on PS3 (DNS error pops up)

Because the devices are on different subnets. You need to change the IP address of the repeater to e.g. 192.168.1.254

But how do I change the IP of the amplifier if I can't access its configuration page? The IP I gave is the default IP of the amplifier.

Edit: Now the internet on the console works and I haven't changed anything. Maybe it was just a problem with the Sony server.

Change the address on the network card (enter 192.168.0.200 and the mask 255.255.255.0), log on to the TP-link http://192.168.0.254, change the IP address configuration, return to the automatically downloaded addressing.

Okay, I changed to 192.168.1.254, but nowhere do I see the option to change to just b + g. The "network" section only shows: MAC Address, Type, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway. And now I think the internet works well everywhere (except for this phone, but it's probably because of the same name), also thank you very much :)

And if I changed the name of the amplifier's network to something other than that of the router (to distinguish them), would everything work or must they be identical?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connectivity issues with a TP-LINK router (TD-W8951ND) and a TP-LINK signal amplifier (TL-WA730RE). The user experiences intermittent internet access when connected to the amplifier's network, while the router's network functions properly. Various devices exhibit different connectivity behaviors, with wired connections generally stable but Wi-Fi connections often resulting in limited connectivity or unidentified networks. Suggestions include configuring both devices to operate without 802.11n mode, changing DNS settings, and ensuring both devices are on the same subnet. The user also inquires about network naming conventions for the amplifier and router, seeking clarity on whether they can have different names.
