    Hello,

I have a WiFi amplifier TP-Link RE450 and I have such a question because because there is an RJ-45 cable input in the device, I wonder how it works or if I connect the RJ-45 cable directly, will there be a better WiFi signal?

The RJ45 socket is to use the network (have access to the Internet) wired. You can then connect to the TV socket or any tower that does not have a wireless card and stands far from the main router. This has nothing to do with the range of this device.
The principle of the amplifier's operation is, as the name implies, the wireless network gain from a device that does not have the range we need. The repeater receives the signal from the main wireless router and then transmits it, extending the range of the wireless network in the house / apartment.

The repeater can also act as an AP when connected to the router via a LAN port.

What does AP mean because I'm a little off topic?

AP is an Access Point. Access point.
Today's routers with wifi are nothing but router + switch + AP

Oh, or how well I understood this, how to connect the router to this amplifier will work as an access point, i.e. it will increase my WiFi range, yes?

More specifically, a new wifi point will be created. If you call it the same as the main network + the same key, you will automatically connect to the new point.

Oh, that's what I meant. It would be enough in this topic thank you for your help.

    Best wishes :-)

Configuration as Access Point then because you have the Range Extender option in the menu.

OK, I was talking about a new access point because currently I have poor WiFi coverage, the amplifier is too far from the router, so I have to connect it with an RJ-45 cable. Thanks again for your help. Subject to close.

Topic summary

The TP-Link RE450 WiFi amplifier features an RJ-45 cable input that allows it to function as an Access Point (AP) when connected to a router via a LAN port. This setup enhances WiFi coverage by creating a new wireless access point, effectively extending the range of the existing network. Users can connect devices that lack wireless capabilities directly to the RE450 using the RJ-45 port, but this connection does not improve the amplifier's signal range. Proper configuration allows the RE450 to replicate the main network's SSID and password, facilitating seamless connectivity for devices within its range.
