Generally, towot type mineral greases are used for metal components. Silicone lubricants for plastic elements. The grease has many parameters and one of them is adhesion to the substrate and this is the reason for the division of applications as above.
Mineral greases have better lubricating properties but do not "wet" plastic surfaces. If the jack in the place of attachment is made of plastic, I suggest buying a small plastic jar of silicone grease with Teflon in an electronic parts store. It has a color between transparent and milky white. Perfect for lubricating anything made of plastic or rubber. The advantage of all silicones is that they do not flow in hot weather, so lubrication will last for a long time. It is also perfect for car door locks, even though they are metal. Towot will lubricate them better, but only until the first heat, after which it will flow without leaving a trace of presence.
There are also new lubricants, copper, ceramic and other based on silicones, but they are terribly dirty.
