    Hello
I have a Clarion QY-5002S car radio (equivalent to MAX973HD). I wanted to connect a CCD reversing camera. The problem is that the camera has RCA plugs, and the radio has a certain "CCD CAMERA TERMINAL" input, which looks like in photo No. 1 (right).

At the electronics store I was told that it would be difficult to get such a plug. There is no such cable in the official Clarion offer. In addition, it can be suspected that a direct connection of a CCD camera (taking into account all combinations) will not give an image anyway, because some "terminal" may be needed. In this situation, I decided to connect the camera to another input - RCA pin (photo 1 on the left). The problem is that I didn't have the right plug, so using the double pin and the diagram (photos 2 and 3) I connected the camera to the pins responsible for AUX (video in).

The camera started working and it would be great if it wasn't for the fact that it only works when stationary. When driving in reverse, the video blocker on the radio turns on, because you can't watch TV while driving.
How should I connect the camera to this input "CCD camera terminal", maybe someone knows where such a connector can be purchased? Does anyone have a diagram of this connector? And by the way, a question about the RCA pin connector separating to RCA connectors; is there any ready made or do i have to leave my homemade?

The whole radio is connected and everything works. There is all the power of these cables and, among other things, as you wrote.

So disconnect the one labeled purple-white, and short the grass-green to ground. After such a procedure, the image from the source described as AUX (video in) should be constantly available.
Helpful post? Buy me a coffee.

Thanks for the hint. Tell me what the grass-green cable looks like and I'll try it. I just want the navigation to work. Everything else will work?

What's the ground cable? In the diagram, it is probably EARTH, but the diagram has a different cube arrangement than in reality. Should I assume it's the black one in the corner? I'd rather make sure because I don't want to fry anything.

Ok, I'll check after connecting the grass-green cable with black (ground). I checked yesterday after connecting to the housing as ground and the camera still turned off while driving.

    Yes, I disconnected.

Or maybe? If purple-white and grass-green are information delivered from the control panel to the radio, then maybe I have a grass-green cable to connect to ground, but on the section (radio-mass), not (central-mass). So far, I've connected the grass-green cable coming to the radio from the central office.

Did you manage to connect this camera to work? If so, could you please provide a detailed description, preferably photos? I have the same radio and would like to connect a camera. The original connection is through the module, which is expensive.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connecting a CCD reversing camera to a Clarion QY-5002S car radio, which has a specific "CCD CAMERA TERMINAL" input incompatible with standard RCA plugs. Users explore alternative connections, particularly using the AUX (video in) input. Key points include identifying the correct wiring, specifically the purple-white and grass-green cables, and ensuring proper grounding to avoid issues while driving. The conversation also touches on the challenges of finding the right connectors and the potential need for additional modules for a direct connection.
