    Hello
    I need to reset the counters in the hl-5450dn printer.
    In most Brother printers, the brmainte program or the appropriate key combinations sufficed, but here the solution is more complicated :(

    From the analysis of the service documentation, page 222
    ...(3) Double-click "FILEDG32.EXE" on the computer to start it, and select the "BrotherMaintenance USB Printer".
    (4) Drag and drop the periodic parts resetting PJL file onto the "Brother Maintenance USBPrinter" icon...

    As you can see, I need a file with PJL commands, which unfortunately I don't have.
    I would like to ask you to send or information where you can download such a file, or information if there is any other method of resetting for this printer.

    Regards, Danielos77

    Dude, you're having a hard time reading.
    PJL is a software file that you do not have access to and you will not get it outside of an authorized service, although you do not need it for anything.

    Depending on the toner/drum, there are different combinations.

    Hello
    Regarding the previous answer:
    1. I'm not talking about drum or toner resets, but about fuser and PF-KIT consumption counters
    2. PJL en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer_Job_Language

    Such a file can be used to load firmware, but not necessarily, for example
    in HP printers after sending a PJL file with the content to the printer
    %-12345X@PJL
    @PJL SET SERVICEMODE=HPBOISEID
    @PJL DEFAULT LANG=ENGLISH
    @PJL SET SERVICEMODE=EXIT
    %-12345X
    we will set the printer language to Polish.
    So I'm still looking for how to reset the fuzer and download.

    Regards

    I have a similar problem with this model, I need to delete the fuser, but this brmainte program does not have this model in its inventory. Anyone have a solution? Maybe advice where the PJL file for deletion can be downloaded.

    PJL files should match the HL-5450, because the language change is for this model.
    %-12345X@PJL
    @PJL DEFAULT COUNTRYCODE="0001"
    @PJL DINQUIRE COUNTRYCODE
    @PJL EXCUTE MAINTENANCE74

    SQWAVE.zip

    Refer to the service manual before use because you may need a service program to enter the laser code when you reset etc. and you probably won't. So you use at your own risk.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around resetting the counters for the Brother HL-5450DN printer, specifically the fuser and PF-KIT consumption counters. The original poster, Danielos77, seeks a PJL (Printer Job Language) file to facilitate this reset, as traditional methods like the brmainte program are ineffective for this model. Responses indicate that PJL files are necessary for certain maintenance tasks, and while some users suggest that such files may be available, they caution that accessing them typically requires authorized service. One user provided a sample PJL command sequence and mentioned a ZIP archive containing reset files for similar models, advising users to consult the service manual before use. Other users also expressed similar needs for resetting counters on different Brother printer models.
