    Hello

I ripped the Windows 7 CD to an ISO image. System version to be installed - all versions of X86 and X64. From the rufus program, I select the GPT to UEFI patrition system and the previously created Windows image.
    Unfortunately, I get the message:

Something wrong with the system image, it must be 64 bit.

Windows 7 does not support (straight from DVD/USB) UEFI. Change the first option, after selecting the iso image, to select MBR partitioning method.

*Of course, there are tricks to install Windows 7 on a computer with UEFI/GPT, but then the system does not work so stable, so I advise against this method

You can't change the bios to "legacy" mode or something like that when booting?
It should work stably, personally I haven't tested it but my friend didn't see anything, maybe he's lucky :) .

The point is that I have LEGACY and I want it to be UEFI. Now the system works stably but that's not important.

    Can't you try from CD?

    It should work on UEFI.

Maybe you're doing something wrong in rufus?

    Where is it going?
Rufus creates a bootable USB. UEFI allows the use of GPT, but MBR also works as far as I remember. Only during the installation of windows you select (settings provided shift + f10) disk partition system.

The board does not boot from UEFI - only LEGACY.

There is such a thing in RUFUS.

GPT must be selected for UEFI otherwise I will not install the system on a GPT disk.

As for the installation, it's not important for now because I need to have something to install the system from.

Maybe check on another software, I use Yumi, it creates a multiboot from several ISO images, there may be different platforms.

First time I hear something like this. But someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There is no such thing as a GPT disk.
During windows installation you can choose/convert to GPT. You press shift+f10 and type diskpart, then list disks with list disk, then type select disk 0 where 0 is the disk number, then type convert and you have what to type to convert from what to what. This deletes all partitions from the disk.

I looked at these guides and I see that the problem is not the preparation of the flash drive itself, because the computer boots from it, and the disc image that after such a boot does not want to work. This message pops up:

Yes, but this concerns the problem with booting from the disk, not the flash drive.
I didn't think it would be so complicated :(

How do I understand the pendrive is in the FAT32 system? Theoretically, this should work. And the logic from the CD itself should work - after all, why give the option of installing GTP in the system, if its installer does not allow it?

It doesn't work the same from a CD as it does from a flash drive. It boots up but I get an error.
It takes a bit of fiddling to boot from UEFI.
there is a link in the #10 post and I did it, but it does nothing because the error is shown - #11 post.

    In the guide you have:

    Requirements:
At least a 4GB USB flash drive
64-bit Windows 7 ISO or DVD (If you want to install Windows 7)
64-bit Windows 8 ISO or DVD (If you want to install Windows 8)
64-bit Windows 8.1 ISO or DVD (If you want to install Windows 8.1)
    32-bit is not supported.

Look for the 64 bit version.

In the meantime, I checked from windows to DVD. Boots normally and with UEFI.
Now it's copying to the flash drive. If I can install it, I will go back to trying with windows 7.

I was restoring the bios settings with a jumper because something was broken there (e.g. the mouse did not work and it is not known why the settings were not always saved).

    Edit

I don't understand why windows 7 with UEFI can't boot. I've tried several versions and each one is the same :(

    **************************
    EDIT
Now I know what is the reason for this message. There is simply no WINLOAD.EFI file. This file must be in the BOOT.WIM archive.

I finally found such an archive and the installation from the flash drive started.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced while creating a bootable USB for Windows 7 using Rufus with a GPT partition scheme for UEFI systems. The user encountered errors when attempting to boot from the USB created with a Windows 7 ISO image. Responses suggest that Windows 7 does not natively support UEFI booting from USB and recommend switching to MBR partitioning instead. Some users mention the possibility of using legacy BIOS settings or trying different software like YUMI for multiboot options. The user later identifies that the absence of the WINLOAD.EFI file in the BOOT.WIM archive was causing the installation failure, and after finding the correct archive, the installation process began successfully.
