Hello. I have a problem installing Windows 10. I wiped the entire drive and made a USB boot from Windows 10 using Media Creation Tool. Earlier, I formatted FAT32 GPT for computers with UEFI using Rufus USB flash drive. AHCI and Boot Mode: UEFI are set in the BIOS.
During the installation I get the error "Windows detected that the EFI system partition was formatted as NTFS. Format the EFI system partition as FAT32 and restart the installation".
This is the same error that popped up when I had a boot for a pendrive in NTFS.
    Help!

Have you deleted all partitions? Did you just clean them?
Why didn't you create a flash drive with rufus but first rufus then Media creation tool?
Try to set the disk mode to ide instead of ahci because Media Creation Tool seems to have a problem with that.

I admit that I am a bit wrong, because I recently reinstalled the system 15 years ago. I admit that it was easier then.
First, I found out about Media Creation Tool as I was looking for information on how to do a clean installation of Windows from a USB flash drive. I found out about Rufus only when this error popped up. There you can make a usb boot, but probably only from an iso image, and I don't have one. I tried to make what Media Creation Tool installed on my USB flash drive, but Rufus didn't see any boot-making file there.

I just formatted all the partitions that were visible when trying to install windows.

I switched from AHCI to Compatible (only such an option), unfortunately still the same.

Since you only formatted the partitions. You just cleaned them. Remove all partitions from the installation and make new ones. The system will choose the filesystem on the partition itself. Apparently one of the current partitions is on ntfs and there can be no EFI.

ok. Another maybe a stupid question - how many of these partitions must there be? The point is that so far I thought that I only have two partitions, meanwhile the windows installation sees probably from 9. I do not need partitions, I just need one, but what about those that I have not seen in my computer and are installed Windows?

Please also glide (and let the installer work freely).

Thanks for your help. Now the installation went nicely.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user's issue with installing Windows 10 due to an error indicating that the EFI system partition is formatted as NTFS instead of FAT32. The user created a USB boot drive using the Media Creation Tool and formatted the drive as FAT32 with GPT for UEFI systems using Rufus. Despite setting the BIOS to AHCI and UEFI boot mode, the installation fails. Responses suggest ensuring all partitions are deleted and recreated, as remnants of NTFS partitions can cause the error. The user later realizes the presence of multiple hidden partitions and successfully completes the installation after following the advice to allow the installer to manage partitions.
