    Hello

    I wanted to format my fairly old computer which is currently running win xp and install win 7.
    As the DVD drive does not work in it (the light is blinking and the drawer does not open) I decided to format the computer using USB.

    I read a few tutorials, booted the USB (twice), once with CMD, and the second time with WinUsb Maker.
    I set booting first to USB -HDD, second as hard disk, after rebooting, in the place where the information should be:
    "Press any key to start system installation" (or something like that), it says "missing operating system" and nothing can be done.

    When I remove the pendrive from the slot and reset the computer, everything is fine.

    I hope that someone has an idea to solve the problem.

    Best regards!

    Do you have the correct image from which you create a bootable flash drive? Do it with the YUMI program, I don't know the previous ones, and this one is definitely reliable.

    I copied the files from the disc from which I previously installed windows and everything was ok.

    CMD, I meant booting the flash drive via the command line commands.

    @Edit

    I copied the disc image to a USB stick using rufus, this time "missing operating system" does not show, instead it is correct "press anything to boot system" (or something like that), but after pressing nothing happens anyway If I don't press anything, the system starts normally, any ideas?
