Hello! I wanted to record a CD with music for my car, but unfortunately I only have a CD player in the car, so I have to record on such a CD as well. When I copied all the music to the folder on the disk, it showed me that it is less than 500MB, which is enough for a 700MB CD-R. However, in nero startsmart, after adding this folder and clicking burn, it shows that it takes over 3GB. The fact that the disc can only be recorded for 80 minutes, and this music takes 360 minutes. However, the space should fit. Anyone know how to record this album so that everything is ok?

PS: If the department is wrong, I apologize and ask for a transfer.

Burn the disc in CD-Audio format. Nero will convert the mp3 files itself. You can put up to 80 minutes of music on a CD.

If your car stereo reads CD-R from mp3, and your music files are mp3, you can safely burn them in Data CD (CD-R) mode. If the player cannot read mp3s, it remains to record the CD as CD-Audio, then unfortunately you have to limit the number of songs, add the most desired (favorite) to the audio compilation until you reach the limit of 80 minutes. Nero will convert mp3 to wav itself and show you the time and space they will take in the compilation.

I recorded the CD as an mp3 and it worked. However, it does not play in the car (I do not know if it has any meaning, but I recorded the entire folder, i.e. after entering the CD, you have to enter the folder). So I am left with the recording in the form of audio files.
I have a Nissan Primere P12 2005. and hence my one more question, there is a DVD player for the automapa in the car, but when I put a CD there with music or something else, it did not read it, and you can do it somehow so that it can read music from this player, because the player is connected to the computer.

After all, they wrote to record in CD Audio and not in mp3. The radio does not support this format. If you want to record all the songs in a folder (360min), you need 4-5 CDs. One will contain about 18-22 pieces depending on their length, at least 80 minutes at most. Wav files are larger than mp3, hence converted over 3GB.

I know, that's what I do, so I record it in wav files ..

And as I wrote above, it is possible to play music through the DVD player, which is actually for the automapa, but is also connected to the computer?

You wrote that you recorded in mp3. And you don't throw a whole folder just a dozen songs? As for the automap, I doubt that it can be forced to play music files.

This is how I recorded an earlier disc, now I recorded it as audio files, as you wrote, but I didn't check if it would work, but rather, since neither of the previous ones works.

When recording these discs as audio files, I immediately put the songs in, without the folder. And if I had put whole songs without folder as normal mp3, would it work? Because in the car, it only plays one track, but without sound and it cannot be changed to another, so maybe it's just the fault.

If after recording mp3 files to a disc, as CD-R and not CD-Audio, the player shows only 1 track, it means that it cannot read data CDs (files), only regular CD-Audio with music tracks. A classic turret player, one without mp3 / wma, also after inserting a "computer" disc will show 1 "track" with a length appropriate to the amount of data, for example 75 minutes ... So to fit all the songs it remains, as he wrote, preparation of several audio CDs.

Ok, everything works, I recorded it in CD Audio format and the music is playing. :)

Thank you for all your help!

Topic summary

To burn a music CD for a car with a standard CD player, it is essential to record the disc in CD-Audio format rather than as mp3 files. Nero software can convert mp3 files to the required format, allowing for a maximum of 80 minutes of audio per CD. If the car stereo supports mp3 playback, a Data CD can be created; otherwise, the user must limit the number of songs to fit within the time constraint. The discussion highlights that recording in mp3 format may result in the player recognizing only one track, indicating it cannot read data CDs. The user successfully resolved their issue by recording the CD in CD-Audio format, enabling playback in their vehicle.
