Hello, are ram udimm different from dimm? Do udimm normally fit in the ddr3 slot and work with Intel processors such as G3250? I found on the net that udimm have no buffer and are less stable, i.e. the computer can hang? I am asking because the udimm memories are cheaper than the dimm memories and the parameters are identical.

As far as I know, computers for individual use are used in companies for servers or computers intended for office purposes. You can go ahead and buy udimm if you use your computer for personal purposes, such as gaming or browsing the internet, because they are faster but as you wrote, less stable (which can actually lead to a computer reset / hang) but it shouldn't be any frequent and persistent, just not such a frame should be overloaded (lead to e.g. 90% wear). With 8Gb of RAM, it will be rather difficult to bring it to such wear.

Hmm, I ordered a udimm 2x4 GB, we'll see how they walk. There are so many different descriptions in the meta that I don't know which one is good anymore. Some write that this lower stability is negligible and it may reflect 1 or 2 FPS. we'll see how it is going to go wild.

    Quote:
UDIMM memory - unbuffered DIMM, it is memory that does not have a register (buffer) and data between the controller and memory are transferred directly without additional buffer. UDIMM memory provides higher speed but less stability than buffered memories.
