    Hello.
I have an iiyama GB2488HSU monitor and an AMD r9 280x graphics card and I can not set more than 60hz. My monitor is connected via a DVI-D cable. Both the card and monitor drivers are as up-to-date as possible.
I will just add that very rarely but there are bluescreens (I don't know if it has anything to do with it).
Thank you in advance for your help.

Why do you want to set a frequency other than 60 Hz?
Graphics card does not support this monitor function.

For 144Hz, you need a DualLink DVI cable as far as I know.
    Ew DP or HDMI.

I would not buy a monitor for over a thousand if I wanted the standard 60hz. From what I read, the DVI cable should normally reproduce the 144hz for me. The card does not have a displayport input, so it is off, and after connecting with an HDMI cable, everything remains unchanged, only the 60hz option is displayed. In my opinion, the cable does not matter here, but something in the system. I even tried to reinstall the complete graphics card, but to no avail.

In fact, after reading HDMI, it will not be possible. 60hz max.
How much DVI does your card have?
Sometimes, with many DVIs, not every connector is DualLink.

What operating system? Does device manager display the name / model of the monitor?

I just connected the cable as in the post above and another problem appeared. When I select the displayport input in the monitor, I can only see my wallpaper, neither the start bar nor the icons are visible. Anyone know what this could be about?

Thanks to everyone for your help. Currently, everything is fine on the mini displayport and I can finally use 144hz :D

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the user's difficulty in achieving a refresh rate higher than 60Hz on an iiyama GB2488HSU monitor connected to an AMD R9 280X graphics card via a DVI-D cable. Initial responses suggest that a DualLink DVI cable is necessary for 144Hz support, while HDMI connections are limited to 60Hz. The user later reports achieving 120Hz at 720p but encounters issues with display visibility when switching to DisplayPort. Ultimately, the user resolves the issue by using a mini DisplayPort connection, successfully enabling 144Hz refresh rate.
