    The problem occurs when I connect via HDMI cable, the picture transmits to my TV but the sound does not...
    The sound does not come out of the computer at all.
    From the device manager I updated the audio drivers after which I got a message that the driver is current but its date is from 2008.
    What could be the problem ?

    I would try to update the driver manually (download it from the manufacturer's website, whether the card or the Laptop), and not play with Windows hocus-pocus.

    I had a similar problem. You had to check in the properties of the graphics card to send sound.

    On the plugged-in cable, give a screen shot of the Playback tab under "Sound". Where you have the volume in the tray, right click and select "Playback device".
