Hello, I am the owner of a Mercedes W205 from 2015. The message Collision Prevention Assist plus inoperative is displayed. I bought a car with minor damage. I have already replaced the radar sensor in the car and the wiring in the bumper, which was damaged. It did not help, the message is still displayed. I was there. at two mechanics, they detected the error -B220600, but neither of them can find a description of this error and remove it. I called the Mercedes showroom and they told me a very high price for the repair, because the car is not covered by warranty. Does anyone of you have an idea what is wrong? yes? Or what does this error code mean? Thank you very much for any help. Regards.

You bought a good module, but now you have a problem with adding it to the car. In short, you won`t be able to figure it out on your own.

I understand that it has to be done with a computer? I just don`t understand why the service wants £400 from me just to remove the bumper.

Because you have such a Merc and you can obviously afford 400E for the repair.

Hello, is it possible that I bought a module from a damaged car and it has a collision saved, so it doesn`t want to connect to my car? If I buy a new module now, will it connect without any problems? I am asking for help and advice.

It`s not like that. your module is ok, the problem is that it has a collision error saved and it is not compatible with the vin number. it`s a fairly new car and no one except Mercedes will be able to fix it for you and make sure it`s OK
It`s a bit like trying to change the ignition without a key.

He`ll get it, he`ll get it. Such things are already being done.

And if I buy a new module, will it work and will it connect to the car?

You probably don`t understand anything, a new module (org clean Mercedes) that will be signed to your car will cost more this module than this repair, but just connecting a new one will not mean that the ECU will accept this module so beautifully without erasing the errors, and the used one new one, the same error will occur.

No one will give you a guarantee without seeing the car. Don`t expect hasty opinions. The answer is, diagnosis first, statement later. Either way, just "plugging in" probably won`t work.

Hello, I have a question for PAEWL wawa. Do you know which workshop would handle this for me? Please give me the directions.

Maybe other users know where I can do such things? The best place would be in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2015 Mercedes W205 experiencing a "Collision Prevention Assist Plus inoperative" error, specifically error code B220600. The owner has replaced the radar sensor and repaired the bumper wiring, but the error persists. Responses indicate that the error may be due to an incorrect or missing vehicle identification number (VIN) in the module, which could be a result of the module being sourced from a damaged vehicle. It is suggested that only authorized Mercedes service can properly diagnose and reset the module, as simply replacing it may not resolve the issue without erasing previous collision data. The high repair costs quoted by the dealership are also a point of concern for the owner.
