Hi. My aunt, who lives upstairs, notoriously turns off the router at 9 p.m., because, as she claims, if left at night, it consumes too much electricity and pays money for it.
Is it true? Will the router use so much electricity when it works 24 hours a day? Is the difference slight? What would it cost per month if the router went on and on for a whole month? I am attaching a photo of this router model with a sticker with its parameters ... It is a Thomson ST706 WL

    8-10W, i.e. 6-7kWh per month - so about PLN 4 per month.

The power consumption cannot be read from this part of the photo. Instead, you gave everyone the password to your wi-fi network.

I have an internal current measurement in one of the mikrotikas. Usually shows 2.5W
How much Cidbie's measurement or measurement is, but turning it off for the night will probably save PLN 1-2 a month.

But you pay every 2 months, so it's 8-10 PLN.

So without offending anyone, they are "old-fashioned" people - you will not convince and explain that it is only PLN 10 for 2 months - and just like the mantra it will repeat "unnecessary expense" ...
