    Hello,

I have a problem with placing the socket in the bathroom.
I need to make a double socket and a light switch above the mirror.
I would like to place it approx. 40-45 cm from the washbasin faucet (approx. 10 cm from the edge of the washbasin) at a height of approx. 100-110 cm.
The question is whether it is in line with the current standard?

You can put them there, it is important that it is at least 60 cm from the shower tray / bathtub

and of course the circuit should be additionally protected with an RCD.

I also recommend installing at least in a housing with IP55 protection.

The drawing from the 3rd post is long out of date and the location of the socket 10 cm from the edge of the sink is also a lack of imagination ... in my humble opinion.

And what equipment / company with such an IP home address will you offer?

I am curious from how many centimeters for a friend, the location of the socket becomes safe 12cm, 15, 30, more?
10cm from the edge, but we do not know what height the sink is, and this also makes a difference.

The washbasin must be 85-90 cm and the socket at any height is not safe because I know what gadgets kids have in the bathroom today. For example, a brush charger on the sink instead of on the shelf ...

I do not sit in companies, but so bad? . I was buying similar or identical to the paint shop. I think Legrand is in Casto.

Gentlemen, we tread on slippery ground, in a moment the plot will grow to an exorbitant size.
Summing up - mmati2 -yes you can put on in the place where you write (it must be outside zone 0, I, II) IP44 equipment (IP 55 you can have a very limited choice when it comes to housing) Socket and lighting circuits must be on switches (switch ) RCD

The ground is very slippery - because we wade in puddles of water by the sink. Barefoot.

Due to the slippery ground, the floor may break hip (like St. JPII).
An electric shock is much less likely than a hip injury - why - because nowadays the bathroom is a room insulated with ceramics.
Only one vein feeds the femoral head - therefore, breaking the head requires a hip prosthesis.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the proper placement of electrical sockets in bathrooms, specifically regarding compliance with safety standards. The user inquires about positioning a double socket and a light switch approximately 40-45 cm from the washbasin faucet, which raises concerns about safety distances. Responses indicate that sockets should be at least 60 cm away from the shower or bathtub and recommend using equipment with IP55 or IP44 protection ratings. Additionally, it is emphasized that circuits should be protected by an RCD (Residual Current Device) to enhance safety. The conversation also touches on the importance of considering the height of the washbasin and the potential hazards posed by bathroom gadgets.
