Hello, when you turn on the coffee machine, you hear sounds and after a while the clean and calc lights come on. According to the instructions, it needs a long rinse, but when we press service, steam comes out of the nozzle and the lights come on again and the machine cannot be turned off. Help 🆘

    Only two lights are on?
Are they on continuously or blinking?
Maybe you could record a video with sound of what it looks like from the beginning.

I`ll dig it up in hopes of helping :-)

I think I have a similar problem with my coffee machine (Krups EA8100, from the inside it looks similar to the EA8000).

After turning it on, the coffee machine wants to start cleaning, but the piston does not go down all the way. The CALC, CLEAN and POWER lights flash together. Everything visible in the video:

After pressing the cleaning button, water flows only through the steam nozzle. And again shown here:

For some time after disassembling the coffee machine, the fault sometimes disappeared on its own for one or maybe two cups of coffee and then came back.

Please remove the flow meter from the coffee machine and plug one side and blow through the other - Isn`t it leaking somewhere?
The next thing that comes to my mind is the pump, although it`s strange because you can see that the coffee machine is practically new.

Filter in the tank unscrewed? Check whether you have a filter installed on the hoses in front of the flow meter and whether it is unobstructed.

I disconnected the hoses from the flow meter, blew them out, there is no leakage anywhere. There is no filter in the tank (if we are talking about the Krupsowy, claris or something like that).

I put everything together, added water to the hoses, got rid of air bubbles and the coffee machine started behaving differently now.

Automatic cleaning goes through without any problems, then the "empty waste container" LED immediately starts flashing, after emptying the container, automatic cleaning starts again and so on.

    Added:
After several cleanings, the coffee machine shows error 12 (apparently it concerns the microswitch under the actuator). I`ll check what`s wrong with it.

I corrected the switch at the bottom of the piston, error 12 disappeared.

Currently, the coffee machine seems to be working. That is, it turns on and makes coffee. However, during brewing, the coffee is poured under very low pressure and it sounds like air is getting in somewhere. To be observed here:

The machine made about 5 coffees like this, and during the next one nothing came out of the spout (actually, I don`t even know where the coffee went - there wasn`t much water in the tray, the inside of the machine was dry, there was no leakage from under the machine). You can see it here:

After the lack of water situation, the machine returned to its original situation (POWER, CALC and CLEAN flashing). I unplugged the coffee machine, added water to the tank, turned on the coffee machine, put in the tank and managed to make another cup of coffee, but the coffee is still pouring at low pressure and there is a gurgling sound (like in the first video).

I`ll join the topic because it`s new and my Krups XP7200 coffee machine behaves exactly like my friend Malabe from the first post.
I turn it on, it warms up, then the "clean" and "calc" lights flash together. Pressing the "service" button causes steam to temporarily flow through the frother.
After a few seconds, the lights flash again and the coffee machine cannot be turned off with the button, only with the plug.
The story of my copy is that I got it from someone.
The distributor was completely stoned, the ceramic discs were stuck together and the gears were grinding. Of course, error no. 1 occurred. After cleaning the distributor, we have the situation as above.
I will also add that the electronics board was probably replaced, because the counters in the service menu have the value 0. Only the counter of subsequent switch-ons increases.

What should I do next to restore its functionality?

Check carefully the capacity of the hoses, the filter (small on the hose), the flow meter and the water return hose to the tank.

Does the machine throw any error? Can you record a video with sound? Does the pump start or does anything other than the distributor start?

How can such information be extracted? My Krups does not have a display, it is the simplest model EA80

Under the flap or under the grid at the top, where there is a place to put cleaning and descaling tablets, there is a tiny window on the right side and there is a display that shows the error number in green. It is placed deep, but through the transparent window you can read the displayed digit.

    Hello colleagues.
    I`ll connect to the topic
I have a krups EA8000, they are on permanently after inserting the plug, all red controls are displayed and error 8 is displayed

This is a standard flow meter fault, there are no visual symptoms on the flow meter, it is enough to replace it. Often, the spring at the piston in the pump may also be damaged, it is worth confirming this and replacing the seal on the piston. While there is no information about the water flow, the infuser piston stops halfway and all the diodes are on (flashing) and the instructions do not explain it. Regards

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with the Krups EA8000 coffee machine, specifically the persistent activation of the clean and calc lights upon startup. Users report that after turning on the machine, it attempts to clean but fails, leading to flashing lights and steam from the nozzle. Troubleshooting steps include checking for leaks in the flow meter, ensuring proper hose connections, and inspecting the microswitch under the actuator. Some users have experienced error codes, such as error 12, which relates to the microswitch, and error 8, indicating flow meter faults. Solutions suggested include cleaning components, replacing the flow meter, and checking the pump's piston spring and seals. The discussion highlights the importance of thorough inspection and maintenance to resolve these recurring issues.
