Check the VDFS.CFG file in the game's root directory (open the file, e.g. in notepad). The correct structure should be in accordance with the following. In case the content differs from the one specified, copy it to your file (overwriting the data) and save the changes.

    [VDFS]
    DATE \ *. Vdf
    DATE \ *. Mod
    [END]

In my opinion, this is the fault of Win 7 that you have because the game on Win 7 may not work, but maybe you will find a fix to get the game to run.

    I mean what?
Have you tried to run the game in Administrator compliance mode?

On another win 7 computer this game worked for me. Running in Administrator compliance mode, I installed various patches and fixes but nothing helps.

Exactly what and in what order?
What resolution are you running at?
Uninstall Game Manager and run via Gothic Starter.

It also works on Win 7-64. From G1 to G3 inclusive.

    I tried this http://pl.gothic.wikia.com/wiki/Blog_u%C5%BCy...ght22/Access_Violation_a_Gothic_II:_Noc_Kruka
I do not know in what resolution it starts up, but I think 1024x768 because the image is cut off.

    Added after 13 [minutes]:

I was able to start the game but disabling the music. But what a Gothic game without music :) After turning on the music, acess volation pops up in the menu. Anyone know why this is happening?

    Pack the files:
    gothic.ini and gothicgame.ini
and insert here as an attachment.
What is your native monitor resolution and what graphics card do you have?

Uninstall everything and install in this order:
    1. G2NK
    2. GMDK:
    http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_94.htm
    3. Patch for GMDK:
    http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_99.htm
    4. Report version to G2NK:
    http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_278.htm
    5. Gothic Stater:
    http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_168.htm
    6. System Pack:
    http://dl1.worldofplayers.ru/games/gothic/patches/systempack/g2notr-systempack-1.6.exe

Gothic original? If not, it won't help.

    FAQ
Q: My game doesn't start, Access Violation crashes after the intro.
A: Right click on 'start menu' -> 'system' -> 'advanced system settings'. Then you go to the 'advanced' tab, enter the 'performance' settings and the 'data execution prevention' tab.
Of the two to choose from, you select the option 'Disable DEP for all programs and services except those selected below', then add all files with the .exe extension from the gothic folder 'System' and save. Access volation should disappear after the intro.

Maybe you have a damaged disk or memory and thus corrupted files?

It is not RAM or disk fault. In my opinion, this is due to bugs with directx. Earlier, I had an error about missing dll files. He writes something in the logs about direct music, I guess that's what it is all about.

And the local fairies know what files it is and they know the content of the logs.

So what's your problem with reinstalling DirectX?
