    I used the file ePDKv100.rar on my 7010 it installed and shut down and does not turn on anymore. It says welcome and the screen turned on but no picture or any sound etc, how can I get it working again? I have an attached video of the process and when it tried to boot back up, you see welcome that's it.

    Hi guys. I also have the 7018B stereo in my car and I am searching for updated firmware too. The stereo works fine, only the mirror link does not. It has some low-quality sound output but it's okay. Can someone please tell me how to dump the firmware (video link or some detailed guide) from it so I can share it here with you and also have a backup in case I mess something up. Thanks.

    Hello,

    I can confirm that XFH_50PMB_2022.bin works for the 7023B unit with the mentioned MB version. My stereo developed a fault where the volume would immediately jump to max (value 255) when turned up (rotated rotary encoder to the right or via remote control command). Reflashing this bin fixed it. I used CH341a programmer with a clip-on adapter. No soldering required. Make sure the adapter is 3.3V capable/modded.

    This is a very basic unit, so do not expect any level of customization/modding. It runs AllWinner's proprietary Melis RTOS, so no apps (either WinCE or Android) are accepted. If you wish to tinker (standard bass-treble-fader adjustments aside) with your car stereo, better buy something else.

    Ok, I've managed to get the programmer and I've modded it to 3.3 V. Tomorrow, I'll try to read and backup the firmware first and then try some of the provided firmwares.
    I'm curious. Since I have a little experience in flashing BIOS, but I have some moderate knowledge in electronics and basic mobile flashing, unlocking, and stuff. I wanted to ask if it's possible, since it is a WinCE OS which is basically a tablet (simplified) version of Windows 95/98, is it possible somehow to get to the storage of the unit and add or remove some files like, for example, add new logos or maybe backup the drivers for the hardware of the unit (touch panel, sound card, key mapping, GPU driver, etc.)?

    The serial memory chip has a capacity of 8192kB, so certainly these are not WinCE-based stereo units. Even old handheld WinCE devices from the early 2000s had more ROM than this.

    What you can try is to find various versions of firmware updates/dumps for the specific processor (F1C200S in my case, yours may be different, check the mainboard) and perform flashing via CH341. If the radio is not working, you can always revert to the original (providing you did the backup). I reckon most firmwares in this price range are basically the same, so this may be rather a pointless task.

    What *should* be possible is altering the background images by directly overwriting the addresses where specific bitmap resides in the flash chip. But without proper tools or endless blind poking, this is somewhat an "adventurous enterprise".

    Thank you for posting! It worked for my head unit called s8. Sound works fine, tuner works fine. Don't mind the lcd, I have had this unit for years, and never used it till today(9/8/2024), and it has been tossed around many times. I am just glad I have bluetooth in the car, now to figure out how to install youtube and other apps.

    Installed in 2003 toyota matrix.

    I bought the 7010B radio for less than 30.00 euros.
    It seems to have good potential.
    It has a touchscreen.
    It plays FM stations.
    It recognizes tracks on a USB stick and plays them.
    I was able to connect it to my Galaxy 22 via BT and play music from it.
    But this only works when the car is stationary and the ignition is switched on.
    When I start the engine and accelerate, the device crashes and no longer responds to anything.
    My layman's guess: The current supplied by the generator is too strong and causes the device to crash.
    Another assumption is that the steady plus and plus for ignition are reversed.
    It forgets all the settings.
    What a pity. It actually makes such a good impression when I run it from the battery power of the Audi A2.
