I have TV Samsung ue43ku6072 and I would like to connect the headphones to the TV but it has only an optical output. And my question is, are there any headphones with such an input and maybe there is an adapter?

If the headphones are standard (3.5mm jack plug) then there are such adapters. Their price varies from several to several dozen zlotys.

Only in this picture, what did you specify where the input is, optical output?

You are interested in this one in the bottom left corner. The optical output is a square-like shape.

But will it certainly convert digital to analog signal?

These are optical converters and you can not connect any headphones.

But you can not connect headphones either, you need the simplest amplifier / headphone amplifier

I also have this problem. I found such Sony MDR-DS6500 headphones connected to the optical output but the barrier price :(

I'll step on the subject. I have a TV samsung NU8042 in the optical input, I want to attach a 3.5 mm mini jack to it.

whether link is it enough to convert the signal or do I need some converter / amplifier?

or maybe just some sound card on usb with mini jack can be connected to tv?

You need a converter + amplifier (headphone amplifier); in the link it is just an optical transition Toslink

The USB card can not be connected to TV

I found 2 converters here, my question is how different they are and whether they will fit samsung nu8042

    first: link

second: link much cheaper with the note "PCM onverter does not work with the latest nc + decoders, and some of the latest TVs that have an AC3 / DTS output"

I understand I have to check what optical output is on tv and what type of sound does it support? But since in this 2 model it is written that it does not handle ac3 (dolby digital or so?) Or dts, what kind of sound will it handle then and what can it be used for? With something older than ac3, dts?

    link
on the reviewing post I found something like:
    "5.1 Passthrough ARC Dolby Digital
    : Yes
    5.1 Passthrough ARC DTS
    : No.
    5.1. Passthrough Optical Dolby Digital
    : Yes
    5.1 Passthrough Optical DTS
    : No "

    Hello,

I will follow the topic (and conquer because I do not see that the problem is solved)
I have a Samsung UE43KU6072U unfortunately, without a mini jack I need to connect the headphones and the TV has an optical and hdmi output.
Has anyone managed to connect the headphones to the optical output via an adapter?
Are there headphones for hdmi? (searched but not found)

Or maybe some of the Dear Forumers have another idea on how to solve this problem ...

Thank you in advance for your answer :)

Mount the TV input to the mini jack and after trouble.

Topic summary

To connect headphones to a Samsung UE43KU6072 TV, which only has an optical output, users discussed the need for an optical-to-analog converter and a headphone amplifier. Standard headphones with a 3.5mm jack cannot be directly connected to the optical output. Adapters are available, but they require additional amplification to convert the digital signal to analog. Some users mentioned specific headphone models like the Sony MDR-DS6500 that can connect via optical output, but they noted the high cost. The discussion also touched on the possibility of using HDMI outputs and the limitations of certain converters regarding audio formats like AC3 and DTS.
