    Hello.
In my new Samsung TV, I only have the toslink optical output. I have Chinch inputs in the amplifier.
I do not know how to connect it to work properly. I found such an optical to analog adapter in one of the stores. http://sklepwideo.pl/details.php?id=ac4wauda
Will it be able to play properly in the amplifier thanks to this? Will the sound quality be worse? Will it even work?
Or maybe someone knows other methods? I would like to add that there are NO OTHER AUDIO OUTPUTS on the TV.

    Theoretically it should.
It is not an adapter, but a D / A converter.

Worse than what (no comparison)? The sound will not be digital, but analog, because the amplifier only supports it.

I meant whether after using this converter the sound quality will deteriorate significantly and it will sound poor simply or it will not make a difference and it will sound as if it were connected with ordinary chinchas.

And above all, will it really work? It costs a bit, and it would be a pity if I had to throw it in the corner right now, because it will not work. ; d

As the seller specifies it, it is a signal converter (it has its own power supply) and as for me it should work, it is not an adapter (because you can also meet such in "offers")
As for the quality, I cannot comment, I did not use them.

Well, unfortunately, there is nothing else for me to do but order and test it myself. I leave the topic open if someone has already used such a device and wants to comment. ; p

Hi, everything works fine. I have no idea which converter I bought now, but it cost about PLN 120. I have a little impression that the quality of the bitch is a bit weaker, but these are such tiny details.
I am actually curious now how these Chinese converters for PLN 20 have worked.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connecting a Samsung TV, which only has an optical Toslink output, to an amplifier that accepts Chinch inputs. The user inquires about the functionality and sound quality of an optical to analog converter they found in a store. Responses indicate that the device is a signal converter, not merely an adapter, and should work as intended. However, there are concerns about potential sound quality degradation when converting from digital to analog. The user ultimately decides to test the converter themselves, with one follow-up confirming successful operation but noting a slight decrease in sound quality.
