Welcome. The specification says that the board supports a total of 4GB for all slots. Modules up to 2GB are tested, the board officially supports DDR2-667 and DDR2-800. In the manual you can read that you should avoid mounting two double-sided memories on a single channel (if you are going to fill only two memory slots, 2 GB each, it does not matter whether they are single-sided or double-sided, but if you want to buy 4x1GB, they should not they are only double-sided bones).

Double-sided single what is the difference.

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

DDR2 1066 (OC) / 800/667 memory support, but here it follows that 3 types of memory can be used.

Two-sided have systems on both sides of the module. One-sided layouts only have one side, the other side is blank.

One type (DDR2), different speeds. Pay attention to the note OC. In the official specification the max is DDR2-800, the DDR2-1066 memory will be released from the machine to DDR2-800, you can overclock it to the DDR2-1066 level if you want (OC).

The manual only mentions DDR2-667 / 800 memory, not mentioning the 1066.

Give me something from the Allegro to match the record.
And how to overclock the ddr because higher frequency is probably better work?

With this platform, you won't notice much of a difference, it's not the RAM that will be limiting the hardware speed, but most likely the CPU from the last decade. Find any DDR2-800 2x2GB and it should work. Memories cannot be of ECC type (sometimes labeled Registered). If you find something interesting, you can add it to the evaluation. If you have a 32 bit Windows version then you may as well buy 3GB RAM (2 + 1GB), the 32bit system won't be able to use the full 4GB.

Well, I have what Xp Professional but I would change to 7 because I have a laptop.
    And no updates to xp.
So I'd rather fill Max's memory.

I bought a new giant album

The construction is old from 10 years ago, therefore absolutely not "giant" :) I guess if you bought a new one, you overpaid heavily comparing much newer boards to the old socket 775.

The chipset has huge limitations in terms of module stocking and I doubt that you will manage to overclock the memory sensibly, because even faster, the board will downgrade to 800 anyway. Forcing will most likely end in a series of bluescreen screens.

Hehe mine were carrion, compared to this record and parts, it's epilepsy. Old computer AMD 3500 processor.
    Asus a8 sli se motherboard.
    6600GT graphics card.
Now I have replaced it with intel core 2 duo E8400
    And graphics for 9600GT

Why are these DDR better? I can see that they probably have additional cooling.

And the brand and model of the power supply?

And lower latency (CL), memories from your link have CL6 if I checked correctly.

450W power supply, I don't remember the model.

    Then check the computer.

Topic summary

The GA-P31-DS3L motherboard supports a maximum of 4GB of RAM across all slots, with individual modules up to 2GB being tested. It officially supports DDR2-667 and DDR2-800 memory, while DDR2-1066 can be used but will be downclocked to DDR2-800. Users are advised to avoid using two double-sided memory modules on a single channel. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use DDR2-800 2x2GB configurations, and ECC memory types should be avoided. The discussion also touches on the limitations of older hardware, suggesting that the CPU may be the bottleneck rather than RAM speed. Users considering upgrades should be aware that a 32-bit operating system will not utilize the full 4GB of RAM.
