    Hello
I have a problem with the timing of the yamaha ybr 125 2005 motorcycle. I wanted to ask honorable colleagues who had contact with this motor, on which sign should the flywheel be set? There is something like the letter H and the letters I. They are quite deep characters, so I suspect that they are factory, but to make it funnier, the timing was set to the first red mark, which someone probably scratched on the flywheel, because the marks these are superficial. I omit the mark on the rack in the head because there is no possibility of making a mistake as there is only one mark. I suspect that this one should be marked in blue. But if anyone could confirm my assumptions, I would be grateful.

According to the service, you should have a single dash "|" for GMP and the sign of two dashes "||" which is the ignition advance angle. So how did you draw it sign H and | are original and as you assume, the timing should be set to the mark outlined in the circle. To confirm this, check physically if there is TDC at this point by examining the position of the piston through the spark plug hole.

Thanks. that's what I suspected. GMP is just on this dash, I can see it with the naked eye because I have the cylinder thrown off and that's why I opened the timing. So it was set up wrong. Tell me more, buddy, could the wrong timing be the cause of the heavy starting of the motorcycle (yes for 6 times on the suction) or is it only the fault of low compression (about 125psi)? Thanks in advance.

Maybe someone thought of tuning the engine ... Timing setting could have had an impact on engine firing. However, in terms of compression pressure, the tightness of valves and piston rings is more important.

So I will go back to factory settings. The cylinder was a bit rubbed by the piston (probably unattended oil) and thus lost compression. Thanks, mate, for your interest in the topic. I close.
