Hello
I have a Cisco ECP3925 modem-router set to mode from Vectra bridge . Its own Airlive G.DUO router is connected to it, although in this case the model probably does not matter. I noticed that in order for both devices to "get along", ie my router has received an IP address on the WAN port from the provider, I have to start (restart) my router first, and then Cisco. In the reverse order, ie when Cisco first "wakes up" and then my router, the WAN port on my hardware does not "rise". You can also see it by the WAN port LED on my router - it is not lit as if I physically disconnected the cable. A similar effect is also achieved by disconnecting the cable: after reconnecting, the WAN port on my router will not rise. Although sometimes, if the break is relatively short, of several dozen seconds, sometimes the "resumption" is successful. But if it lasts a few minutes or more, it doesn't stand a chance (to be clear: it's an Ethernet cable connecting Cisco to my router).
The problem appears, for example, in the event of a power failure, or when I just restart my router for any reason. If the Cisco "rises" faster, my router will be waiting indefinitely for an IP address from the provider. I also tried to connect two other router models to Cisco, the effect was similar.
A question for owners of this Vectra equipment in a similar configuration: are you observing such an effect? I used to have an Arris mod and I don't recall such problems. Ie. regardless of the order of startup / restart, after some time - a few, max. several minutes - the devices always "got along".
