Yamaha RX-V373 AV Receiver Won't Turn On: Reset, Burnt Smell, Power Supply & HDMI ARC Issues

I have a problem with the Yamaha RX-V373 AV Receiver. The receiver does not turn on. I tried to do a reset with a combination of keys (TUNE CONTROL, STRAIGHT, POWER [ON / OFF]) nothing helps, only it smells of burning, I suspect a burnt power supply but I prefer to make sure. The display does not light up and the receiver only makes a popping sound (such as when it is turned on) and then turns off. I also wanted to add that for some time the receiver on HDMI ARC was interrupting and it had to be turned off for about 5 days (perhaps from the HDMI cable).

The conclusion is this.
Scrap equipment or have it serviced.
You won't do anything yourself, after your post I conclude that you have a poor idea of repairing equipment and electronics.
Sorry to write that, but I think it's true.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm unlikely to throw away a few hundred bucks worth of gear. Thank you again.

It was by the way, I also gave a different solution.
Unless you feel able to repair it yourself.

@chewa write what measurements you have already carried out, what have you determined and what parameters have you had a problem with interpreting? Where are you stuck?
Just don't write us that all you did was sniff ...
