    I warmly welcome,

I would like to replace the 2.0 16V 120 HP engine with the Renault F4R.720 designation by some other engine matching the 6 speed manual gearbox PK6 in Vivaro Trafic Primastar (of course, the power can be higher :) ).
Does anyone know what engine will fit my bus? I can't find the engine with the exact mark.

probably every 2.0 16v will fit, the power does not come from the post only the equipment and control

And should the 2.0 16V IDE also fit?

    No . Because it's an F5R engine.

Today I found out that the F4R engine once has a water pump on the timing belt and another time on the multi V-belt. If I have a water pump on the timing belt, does the engine with the water pump on the other side fall off?

Rather, you need to look for the engine as it was or renovate the old one.
    What happened to him ?

It comes with 3 cylinders, low compression in one cylinder and 400,000 km of mileage, but I do not have time to renovate. I would like to quickly buy and replace the engine, only then refurbish and keep the old engine for bad times or sell it.
I was able to find such a thread: http://renault.auto.com.pl/forum/viewtopic.ph...postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=vivaro+f4r

I don't think there is an option that fits every F4R block because there are different gearboxes. I have a PK6 transmission, which is usually combined with diesel and only in Espace IV occurs with the F4R 2.0 16V engine.
Unfortunately, the naturally aspirated F4R in the Espace IV is equipped with variable timing phases, which I do not have and how to control them, while only 2.0 Turbo has no variable timing phases.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Does anyone have a table of connections between gearboxes and engines according to codes F4R.7XX?

I think such things only in the "Era"
There is one body number to which the engine and transmission type with determinants are assigned, and with the serial numbers of these components. The manufacturer did not foresee that someone would want to install a different engine in another vehicle and combine it with another gearbox

Not only in the Era hehe
Please find attached the connection table for all engines and transmissions on Renault Espace

There is probably the same combination for all other Renault / Dacia models.

I do not know if you noticed that this is not an original document, but created by someone in WORD for their own needs and it is not the entire document, only part of it is missing files for hyperlinks.
I don't know if you noticed on the basis of this document that there are no two types of engine that match the same box.
I doubt very much whether there is a similar document for Trafic / Vivaro / Primastar, and if it exists, it will not bring anything to the case.
Here, only someone who has already done similar puzzles can help or collect all information about engines available on the secondary market, which unfortunately involves a visit in dozens of turns with a card, camera and subway.
As well as in the Dealership to determine the numbers of common parts for individual engines.

As for the source of this file, how well you noticed there are links to files on someone on your computer (by the way, graphic files with the visualization of the engine or gearbox).
This is a document found on the net that is part of the VIN decoding program EUVID. Based on the VIN fragment from the first column, the program recognizes the sales code of the given item and discards the engine code and transmission code. By the way, if any of you had access to the EUVID system, please contact me.
The program also includes other models of all popular brands in the same tables. Renault figured out that each engine code was not connected to more than one type of transmission.
    That's why there are so many F4R engine codes. They start with F4R 700 2.0 16v Espace 3 1998 cc 103 kW 140 HP JE00 JE02 JE0L JE0N and end with F4R 897 2.0 16v Espace 4 1998 cc 125 kW 170 HP JK1D.
I have calculated exactly 55 different engine codes from the F4R series (there may be more).
And then we can determine that the engine: F4R 700 was connected in Espace 3 to the JC5 019 gearbox. What's more, the last digit of the engine code says whether it was in the "package" with automatic or manual gearbox.
Common part numbers may not appear because there are brands that assign different part numbers for different models due to, for example, the prestige of the model, which is a price differentiator.

hello, how did the situation with the engine swap end? I am curious

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around replacing the Renault F4R.720 engine in a Vivaro, Trafic, or Primastar vehicle with a compatible engine that can work with the PK6 six-speed manual gearbox. Participants suggest that while many 2.0 16V engines may fit, specific compatibility issues arise due to variations in engine design, such as the placement of the water pump. The F4R engine series has multiple variants, and the author expresses a desire for a quick engine swap due to the current engine's low compression and high mileage. There is a request for a table of engine and gearbox connections, highlighting the complexity of matching engines to gearboxes across different models. The conversation emphasizes the need for detailed compatibility information and the challenges of sourcing a suitable replacement engine.
