    Hello,

I have one working key (immobilizer + central locking) for Toyota Aygo 2005 and I would like to add a spare key. I would prefer to buy a used key from Aygo from this year together with electronics and ID 4D70 transponder.

I know that there is a procedure for adding a key to the central lock (combination of closing / opening the door, etc.).

What to add a transponder to an immobilizer is no longer clear, because for example Toyota Yaris and Avensis there is a procedure for adding without using specialized equipment.
I did not find such a procedure for Aygo, and what is more, there are opinions in various forums that some programming equipment and a previously unused (clean) transponder are required for programming.

Therefore, I would like some expert on the subject to clarify what the situation in this car looks like and clearly explain what are the possibilities of adding another transponder to the immobilizer.

How many keys will the immobilizer hold?
Can you check how many keys are entered without specialized equipment?
Is it possible to delete immo keys?

    I found something like this.
    Turn the ignition off
    Open the driver's door
Maximum number of programmable remote controls: 4
The add mode is used to register new codes while maintaining codes already registered
Note: If the number of registered codes exceeds the limit, the previously registered codes will be deleted in turn
To register new codes, use the rewrite mode to erase all previously registered codes
Confirmation mode is used to confirm the number of existing codes before additional registration
The prohibition code is used to delete all registered codes
Note: This mode is used when the remote control is lost

Do as I do in my scrap metal.
You lug an immo tablet from a working key, attach it permanently under the ignition switch and the guitar plays.
If they want to give you a lift, they will do it, regardless of whether or not immo.

This is the procedure for catching the closing remote control, not the immo

It's an idea, but I would like to get my questions answered.

In no car is there a procedure for adding a transponder without a suitable service device. You have two options - ordering a duplicate key at the plant that produces the keys or visit an ASO (definitely more expensive option)

    Buddy CameR,
Let me disagree with your entry. My entry solves the problem as much as possible. I did it in my Nissan Micra car. I bought it for 120 GBP. I bought it with only one key. The cost of copying the key at the plant that produces the keys - exceeds the cost of buying a car. The cost of buying a key at an authorized Nissan service is twice that amount. I decided to make a change. I know I lost my immo because this car can be fired with a screwdriver.
But on the other hand I have an extra key in the drawer for 5 GBP, which I can use if I lose the first one. And then it will save me a lot of problems.
So sometimes deactivating the immobilizer can be a solution for owners of old, low-value cars who do not want to incur unnecessary expenses.
I hope my colleague understood my thought. If a colleague disagrees, please reply.

I'm sorry if I hurt someone that a 12 year old mini car is of little value.

How about this? (apparently applies to Yaris and Avensis)

    Fake?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the process of adding a spare key to the immobilizer of a 2005 Toyota Aygo. The user seeks clarification on whether a used key with a 4D70 transponder can be programmed without specialized equipment, as there are conflicting opinions on the necessity of such tools. Responses indicate that while the Aygo can register up to four remote controls, adding a transponder typically requires a service device. Some users suggest alternatives, including ordering a duplicate key from the manufacturer or visiting an authorized service outlet, although these options may be costly. There are also mentions of procedures applicable to other Toyota models like the Yaris and Avensis, which may not directly apply to the Aygo.
