    Hello.
    I have such a problem.
I made the system format and installed the newly updated Thunderbird mail client from the site. After installing it, I copied the entire folder with mail account details.
    As it turned out.
Recent emails in the inbox are from 2017.12.07 - emails from the abovementioned the date to today is not:

Typing in the search engine, e.g. 'streak' in search results, I have a visible history from 2018 and the beginning of the email with attachments in view:

By clicking on the visible history can not see the email:

Please help me to restore unread emails.

    Maybe they are archived.
You have correctly set the archive folder in the account configuration?

I have nothing in the archive - I have the archive from 2015, 2017.

From what I associate it was the TH update in December.

And can't you point him to the right folder there?

PS. Something hiding your email didn't work out :D

    In archives?

In the account configuration I have set the path to the database of saved e-mails.

In addition, as you can see in this email client, I have 4 accounts and only one account that is going on - on all other accounts, everything is ok.

PS Unfortunately, but I have improved. I don't want to get the rubbish avalanche that I have on my first email.

I will add that the outbox is also inverted like the above inbox - emails are visible from 06.2017.

If you still have a secured copy of the message, then maybe download the older version of TB and check it (after disconnecting the program, disconnect the internet so that it does not update).

Thanks to DriverMSG - I was looking for different versions of this program released during the year. Tomorrow I will see and let you know if it helped?

I reinstalled all versions of the program from January 2018.
In version 49, after starting the program, a window popped up saying that the inbox is full and you need to delete old messages. I removed the antiquities but without success - messages as above are detected but their content is invisible (the content only blinks and disappears requiring establishing an internet connection). I suspect that there might be some helper file cached somewhere by the program and it is not in the format.

The file may and is, but the corresponding registry entry is missing and the program may not trace it.
If TB does not encrypt files, it may be possible to find the content with some HEX editor or TextCrawler program.

Topic summary

The user is experiencing issues with the Thunderbird email client after formatting their system and copying the mail account folder. Recent emails from December 7, 2017, to the present are missing, while older emails are visible. Suggestions include checking the archive settings, ensuring the correct folder path is set in the account configuration, and considering the possibility of a corrupted database or missing registry entries. A recommendation was made to download an older version of Thunderbird to troubleshoot the issue. The user attempted reinstalling various versions but still faced problems with email content visibility, suspecting cached files might be causing the issue.
