Hello. I have a problem with the makita hr2811 ft drill, so when drilling with a small load, the clutch engages, it seems to me that it is too sensitive, the drill has already been 5 years old, so it has been overhauled recently because the impact did not work, but I managed to fix it. Please help which element to replace so that it is ok.

If before the repair it was ok, i.e. you folded the clutch incorrectly, i.e. you did not properly install the locking / blocking ring for the clutch spring, which makes it too weak to press the clutch. Which means that it starts to work even with low power. It is possible that it has already been made and you will have an exchange. Sometimes it is grindable, but then there is a risk that the decoupling force will not be too high.

The clutch in this drill cannot be dismantled - this is item 69 on the diagram. As for me, you have either a worn pair of 42/68 modes, or you folded something wrong and the gear does not mesh properly - element 34 should enter 42 - it is pressed against it by a spring 33

Topic summary

The user reports an issue with the Makita HR 2811 FT drill, specifically that the clutch engages too easily under low load conditions. After a recent overhaul to fix the impact mechanism, the user suspects improper assembly of the clutch components, particularly the locking ring for the clutch spring, which may be causing the sensitivity. Responses suggest checking the assembly of parts 42 and 68, and ensuring that element 34 meshes correctly with part 42, as improper installation could lead to the clutch engaging prematurely. The clutch itself is noted to be non-dismantlable, indicating that replacement may be necessary if wear is found.
