Hello, I am thinking of buying a clamp meter that I will use privately, the accuracy must be good (not 5%) rather for hobby purposes, and the question here is which company to buy the meter? From what I see, the UNIT company has a lot of models (I already have a multimeter from them, very accurate)
I have a selected model but I do not know if it would be the best for the price of about PLN 100
UT202 TEMP (so far this suits me best Link
If anyone has it, please describe your experiences with him, what and how, what is bad and what is cool.
Unless you recommend some other company, what is it?
    greetings :)

Hello. Disadvantage - slow measurement speed, an advantage - no one will guide you to this brand at the construction site.

I have such a unit, its accuracy given in the manual is only a theory (when it comes to measuring with clamps). When measuring direct current, it is best to put the clamps on the left and once on the right and take the average of the measurements. For example, I have a circuit in which, according to of a directly connected meter, a current of 3.0A flows, I put on the clamps of the unit and indicate 2.6A, I assume the opposite and indicate -3.4A. He had it from the news. I even got it up and running, but I couldn't find a way to adjust it (as anyone knows how happy to find out).

@bie What you wrote is very helpful, do you have any other meter that measures better? Or some better company?

I don't have one, but I used a fluke with additional clamps on the cable, it was a meter.
The general rule: what is the price of such a measure. Nothing has changed here.

Well, I think I will order the one I gave and check it myself, I could pay a little more if I knew that it was checked and it only has the 1%, I am looking for comparisons and tests, if you have it, please provide links.

I have a UNI-T multimeter, its only advantage is the price unfortunately ..... I only bought it for measuring DC up to 1000V, sometimes it needs this range and the measurement does not have to be very accurate.
I use the Sonel CMP-1006 for clamps and I am very pleased.

However, such questions surprise me, since, as you write, the meter is to be used privately, as a hobby, so I understood that it was amateur. And what's the difference, what equipment will you buy? The most important measuring device is the head! Therefore, a real electrician will learn more using a neon lamp than a pseudo electrician with a fat meter, with an accuracy of 0.1.
I don't know if you know LAVO meters from the seventies. Normal, magnetoelectric, for measuring voltage, current and resistance. For scouts, as they used to say, because that's also their class (accuracy). And yet, even though the hand does not want to swing at the beginning of the scale, it is the instrument I use the most! I have better meters, even cool ones, but ... take for construction? They will get dirty! So is the clamp meter. Every day I use one for thirty several zlotys and its accuracy is enough for me.

What kind of research people conduct that only Sonel, Fluke, others are slow measurement speed ... where are they in such a hurry?

@retrofood I do not need high accuracy, it is just an ordinary multimeter (UNI-T 33A) to measure the currents, I have to disconnect the circuit and it has a range of up to 10A and I need (it would be convenient) to have a meter with a range of at least 20A and preferably without disconnecting, probably make an adapter to the meter for socket 230.

But I understand, it is obvious that such equipment is needed. No matter what company or class.

I do not recommend this company. Two gauges (UT-201, UT-204) and UT-18C gauge advertised.
I would never buy anything from this company and I got the above for free ....
I recommend, for example, Kyoritsu meters.

The clamps of this company are good, of course, but the author wants to spend up to PLN 100.

Gentlemen, I repeat again for amateur applications, I do not care about the speed of measurement and the price is up to PLN 100 because more is not worth it for me, the more that it will be used maybe twice a month for 5 minutes. I will buy a unit and let me know how it measures and if it is correct. I also have a UT33A unit that measures very precisely so we'll see. Greetings.

Are there clamp meters that measure current but 2 neutral and phase? e.g. a cable from the refrigerator so as not to unscrew the socket (I do not know about such meters yet, so please bear with us)

Hello. I have been a user of the UT201 meter for about six years, the cable from the measuring coil was broken several times, I repaired and works to this day.

I have a UT70A I bought 100 years ago (the sockets have already crumbled due to old age) and I am not complaining either.
Now Sonel CCM10 has come, but only because it was on display in a pawnshop for PLN 50, it was a sin not to take a damaged one (fuse on the 10A range).

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting a clamp meter for hobby use, specifically the UNI-T UT202 TEMP model. Users express concerns about its accuracy, noting that the specifications may not reflect real-world performance, particularly in measuring direct current. Some users recommend averaging multiple measurements for better accuracy. Alternatives such as the DUWI EM402 and Sonel CMP-1006 are suggested for their reliability and price. Users also mention experiences with other brands like Fluke and Kyoritsu, emphasizing the importance of measurement speed and accuracy, although some argue that for amateur use, the specific model may not be critical. The conversation highlights the need for a clamp meter that can measure both neutral and phase currents without disconnecting circuits.
