    Welcome

    I am trying to install Graterlia OS on a PenDrive USB 32 GB USB 3.0.

    I follow these instructions strictly - http://graterlia.xunil.pl/index.php/FAQ_-_Strona_1#mozTocId184425

    I'm having trouble with the second command "Now enter fdisk / dev / sdb in the terminal"

    The message it receives in the terminal in response to the fdisk / dev / sdb command is as follows:

    fdisk: cannot open / dev / sdb: No such device or address

    Probably before this command you need to check the status if PenDrive is mounted or mounted - but I can't see anywhere

    commands for this operation. However, the instruction from the link above does not have this command.

    I am asking you very kindly for help.

    Again, a colleague does not read the instructions.
    Your flash drive is on sda so the command should be:
    fdisk /dev/sda

    Thank you very much Dear friend Dedito :)

    I am asking you for help.

    What is the Extended partition for - that is, the extended partition for Linux?

    I had earlier on this PenDrive USB 3.0 created two partitions one 512 ex3 or 4 on it was loaded Graterlia OS and the second records also

    external 3 or 4 with the Records label. There was no Swap partition on this PenDrive. My friend PenDrive used to do this before, but Garaterlia OS did not

    she wanted to run from PenDrive. I tried to add the Swap partition via the Gparted utility to the partition that is under mini Linux

    run with Hiren's Boot 15.2. However, without success - despite creating a 1024 Mb swap partition, the Graterlia OS system is still there

    PenDrive did not get up from it.

    I have a 500 GB USB 2.0 disk with three 128 MB partitions, a 512 MB Swap partition and the rest for recordings. Graterlia OS starts from disk

    normal.

    I would love to make Dad Graterlia OS on PenDrive because it is a flash memory and will work faster like a disk HDD after

    USB 2.0.

    I am asking for help

    Yours sincerely whitewolf1608

    To the same as for Windows.
    I don't see any more questions.
    From the further description I conclude that there is a problem with running Graterla, maybe it is once again associated with not reading the instructions. I quote:
    Quote:
    We start our decoder again and after the BOOT appears on the decoder display we will see NAND / NOR etc (depending on the decoder), at this point with the P + / P- keys we set on our pendrive. We wait several seconds for the GOS startup logo to appear.

    I see no sense at all. GOS created by a layman for a layman. Why such a choice? After all, problems will arise from ignorance, and GOS requires more knowledge than other images.
    Why don't you choose some OpenPli, for example, buddy?

    Thank you very much for your reply.

    I chose Graterlia OS because it is the only one that has full support for IPTV Player, I don't know about OpenPli when it comes to IPTV Player?

    By the full support I also mean frequent updates.

    In addition, Graterlia OS is being developed and has updates released, I think Open Pli no longer gets updates.

    Does Graterlia OS require an Extended partition or should it boot from the Primary partition?

    I kindly ask for info what type of partition for OS Graterlia should be set in Terminal or Primary is enough or not

    should it be extended?

    I do not quite understand my colleagues '' GOS created by a layman for a layman '', please kindly specify the term '' layman '' used.

    I really care about exhaustive information from the Dear Colleague.

    As I mentioned above Graterlia OS because it is being developed and OpenPli no longer gets support i.e. it is not updated (there is no

    development) according to my knowledge I can be wrong of course and therefore here if I am wrong I am asking my colleague to correct regarding Open Pli.

    Why on PenDrive Graterlia, I already explain the reason is too little memory in the Nbox 2850st.

    Yours sincerely whitewolf1608

    Only GOS has full IPTV support? It's some rubbish.
    For a long time, GOS did not have the permission of the author of the IPTV plugin to use it on this system.
    OpenPli has it since the appearance of this plugin.
    The IPTV plug-in itself is developed independently of the decoder system, so the updates are the same for every system.

    That GOS is still being developed is not a key argument in favor of being used by the average user. For the average user, simplicity, stability, lots of additions to choose from and great community support should count.
    For the average user, OpenPli is sufficient and meets all of the above conditions.
    Of course, I do not defend my colleague to test different solutions because it certainly teaches and develops, but as a choice of system for Dad (who has no knowledge about Linux) I would not recommend and in this context, please treat my statements in this message .

    Once again, I suggest you read the instructions, because I do not feel like once again to quote something that is publicly available and indicated by a link in previous messages.

    Finally, I quote the description of the system by the author himself:
    Quote:
    NOTE -> the system is not created for everyone. Just as there are many Linux distributions, there are many IMAGE / Softów for satellite tuners. Some are easier to use and others more difficult. Graterlia OS is not IMAGE / Soft but OS (operating system) and it will not be EASY (although it depends on the user how much "something" is very complicated). It will be a system for open people who already have some knowledge of Linux systems or can quickly acquire it. Anyone who has not dealt with Linux before and in fact wants to learn something will also manage. There will simply be "one click" facilitators. When deciding to install Graterlia OS, please remember this tiny, but important NOTE!

    I also recommend keeping the above in mind.
    And the following:
    Quote:
    In sum...

    Graterlia OS is for you if:

    you expect a simple, stable Operating System for VU +, ADB5800xx, ADB28xx, SagemCom88, Spark7162;
    you value the option of upgrading without ever re-uploading everything again when the new version of the software comes out;
    the terminal is not a terrible place for you, on the contrary - it does not frighten you;
    you don't expect a multitude of functions, plugins, add-ons, skins, fountains, and you focus on selecting what is valuable.

    GraterliaOS is not for you if:

    you expect the system to do everything or almost everything for you;
    you want to have packages pre-installed because it's easier;
    the most important thing is to have a multitude of functions, plugins, add-ons, skins, fountains and this is at your fingertips - stability is in the far position.

    I also think the topic is exhausted,
    Best regards.

    Thanks for the answer. If IPTV works under every soft, including Neutrino, please send link how to upload to Neutrino IPTV Player with

    terminal.

    Dad grasps Graterlia well, he had Open Pli 8.6 in the decoder's memory before, but when we learned that Neutrino is the lightest

    the service technician uploaded Neutrino to the Nbox 2850st. And the service had to be sent because after disconnecting the power supply it did not register, i.e. the diode on did not light

    him. It turned out that there was a problem with the processor and the processor was replaced. After replacement, it works correctly.

    Can I find out what 'GOS created by a layman for the layman' means?

    Added after 14 [hours] 50 [minutes]:

    I am asking you kindly for support.

    Enter the umount / dev / sdb command

    The terminal responds with umount: dev / sdb: not mounted.

    After making sure that PenDrive is actually mounted by typing df -h

    I get a response from the terminal that the dev / sdb device has 1% use.

    I kindly ask for support because I have a little unclear situation in the terminal, because of my knowledge after entering the command umount / dev / sdb - then after entering the command

    df -h I should get information from the terminal that it is 0% use.

    Installing GrateriaOS on 32GB USB PenDrive via puTTY: Seeking Terminal Commands

    Start thinking logically ... since you have dev / sda1 mounted to / dest why are you stubbornly trying to unmount / dev / sdb?

    The unmounted device should not be in the system so where did the idea from 0% come from?
