Welcome. I just bought Mazda 6 II 2009 year, in which the airbag indicator blinks in sequence 1 blink stop and 8 blinks. The German owner claimed that when his wife was pregnant, Mazda did deactivate the passenger cushion, which can be seen even in the history of the site. He also claims that the cushion was reactivated and that the blinking began. The car is never crashed, I checked the plugs under the seat, but no signs of corrosion (oxidation) of contacts. After removing all the cubes and re-fastening for a time, the blinking stops but returns. I have read posts about mounting seat mat emulator but in my car there is no plug with three pins at the edge of the chair - heated seats. Has anyone of you encountered this type of fault and knows how to get rid of it?

The easiest way would be to hook up the computer and look at the errors. Then the diagnosis will be full. Yes you will look for and waste time.

Thank you for your response. The computer displayed an error with the description: sporadic fault. Break / short to ground. It does not say much to me, and the person connecting the computer suggested checking the connectors under the seat, which I did and could not see.

But what error ???? because the sporadic fault in everything can occur and should be erasable. Go to someone who knows the diagnosis.

Using what has been found in another forum is a bug 18 (1 blink break 8 blinks). It probably means: "18 a burned out light informing about the passenger's air bag deactivation". Description here: http://www.mazda6forum.pl/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=188&start=30. Before I start to undress everything, I would like someone who is more familiar to speak. I will add that the passenger seat mat works because after the passenger sits down, the indicator light next to the watch on the middle display begins to blink.

Buddy, with all due respect, you've got a 2009 car and you're looking for a bit of a grip. After connecting to the computer, the diagnostician will turn on the controls and then you have brightness, additionally errors and the set. You are looking for methods (maybe they are real) on the mondeo level and because there flashes worked out. Here I do not know if they are reliable or not. I do well because no one wanted to tinker with the cushions and the cockpit or tensioners changed. greetings

Unfortunately, I was unable to connect the car to the computer, but the previous owner also had it and claims that after connecting the computer was error B1890. Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) indicator circuit short to power supply. Does anyone know what to do about it?
For those interested, the topic was trivial. Namely, this sequence of blinks informs the user about the problem with the bulb of the passenger airbag control - the one on the center console near the ashtray. Something went bad there and the bulb did not work after tapping the bulb the bulb worked and the blinking pillow light goes off after the car is started. Everything has been working for over half a year. Thank you all for your help.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2009 Mazda 6 II experiencing a blinking airbag indicator, specifically a sequence of 1 blink followed by 8 blinks. The previous owner had deactivated the passenger airbag cushion during a pregnancy, and upon reactivation, the blinking commenced. The user checked the connectors under the seat for corrosion but found none. Diagnostic checks revealed a sporadic fault, and further investigation indicated a potential issue with the passenger airbag deactivation indicator circuit. Ultimately, it was discovered that the blinking was related to a malfunctioning bulb in the passenger airbag control indicator on the center console, which was resolved by tapping the bulb, restoring functionality for over six months.
