Hello.
I decided to post on the forum because I have a problem with pillows in Suzuki Swift 2008. Search posts about problems with cushions in such a car are either already closed or do not give any indication.
I got a car with a glowing pillow indicator for repair. The client claims that he has never had any impact. Driving on the road suddenly braked and a small bottle of water fell from the rear seat under the driver's seat (of course the bottle was turned off) and the pillow light came on. I will add that the car has 8 pillows (front driver and passenger pillows, one in the front seats, a curtain on the front pillars and a curtain on the central pillars). I plugged the tester (CDiF3) in order to diagnose the fault, and surprisingly there was no information that something is wrong with the pillow in the driver's seat, only one error: SDM module - internal malfunction - B1071
I immediately checked the connection under the armchair and the error still did not disappear. I started checking all connections with all pillows and everything is connected everywhere. The customer ordered a second driver (used of course because the service asked it shouted about 3000 PLN). On the second driver the same. He gave the driver back and ordered another driver from someone else and the same error. In total, one and the same error on the client driver and two other (same in numbering). I took a screenshot of the pillow resistance and there is something like this:
I thought that the reason for this error is too high resistance of the driver's cushion in the steering wheel but ....
Somehow, the same car came to the workshop for a different repair. I connected the tester to his cushions and also took a screenshot of the resistance parameters, and surprisingly the cushion resistance is almost the same as in the car with a defect, and here the driver's cushion in the steering wheel also has higher resistance than all, and the cushion indicator goes off after starting the car and the system OK.
At the end I will add that somewhere in some already closed post one of the forum members wrote that six blinks of the pillow indicator mean a damaged igniter of the pillow in the steering wheel. And this is probably an erroneous statement, because as I checked the functional Suzuki with the tester, after leaving the AIR BAG system the pillow also flashed 6 times and then went out. I am asking for suggestions .... Worn insulation of cables between the controller and the pods probably is not an option, otherwise the resistance of one pod would be different. I also checked the two side sensors L and P and the front. After unplugging them, the tester displayed an additional error, so there is probably nothing to look for in them ... What next?
