    Hello

I am looking for a meter for electrical installations (RCD measurement, short circuit loop impedance, insulation resistance, grounding). I decided to buy one universal meter.
I chose two types that I am interested in:

    1) METREL MI 3100 SE EurotestEASI
    2) KYORITSU KEW6016

I am asking for the opinion of those who used the abovementioned meters and are able to say something interesting about them. Is there any point in paying extra to Japanese KYORITSU or buying a cheaper Slovenian Eurotest?

I will add that the cost of calibration of the MI 3100 SE EurotestEASI meter is PLN 360 net, KEW6016 meter PLN 150 net.

The Eurotest MI 3100 meter has a 24 month warranty and the KYORITSU KEW6016 has a 36 month warranty.

And why not support Polish production, look at Sonel.
In case of damage, there is no problem with repair, you can fail to authenticate or send by mail.

I was also thinking about Sonel MPI 520, but sonel calibration costs PLN 420 net, and the price of the meter is PLN 4,431 gross without probes and grounding cables and without software.
It has 36 months warranty, the repair lasts up to 14 days, and the calibration is carried out within 7-10 days.

MI 3100 SE EurotestEASI Costs PLN 3,920 gross including software, as well as probes and leads for earth measurements.
Calibration costs PLN 360 net and lasts 5-7 business days.
It has 24 months warranty, the repair lasts up to 30 days, however, they provide substitute gauges for the time of repair.
Service and laboratory is in Warsaw.

These prices are from the metris.pl store

The Japanese KEW6016 is on sale together with the KT 171 tester, software as well as probes and wires for earth measurements at the price of PLN 5,152 gross. (price from the store biall.com.pl)
Calibration costs PLN 150 net and lasts 2 business days.
Service and laboratory is in Gdansk.

In the annex I put the specifications of the above meters.

I don't know if I am so lucky but whenever I send MPI525 for calibration, Sonela Laboratory always finds a fault in it. Last calibration took almost 4 weeks because it also turned out that something is wrong, of course, no one could tell me what, only after a long "harassment by phone" I was told that one clamp has loosened - repair cost 300netto.
They almost always want to push a new battery for me, apparently mine is already running out.
In general, SONEL means very high maintenance costs for the meter.

I have METREL EUROTEST 61557 and I don't complain. The manufacturer calibrates its product once and does not require "forced" calibrations from time to time. According to the Act, it is me who decides when and if the meter needs to be re-calibrated.
If Sonel has to do it so often, it's either poor quality products or cash out. Rather the latter ;)
A colleague above wrote about even pressing the battery. I usually buy kiosks or rechargeable batteries and don't have to worry about anything.
It reminds me of the operation of an ASO in my car. How many times I come for a review, I always have a bulb replacement that always needs to be damaged during the review. Apparently the cost of a light bulb is small, but now let's multiply it by 1000 non-listed bulbs is a considerable amount.

Hello. I skip Sonela after 'experiments' with them, I have HT Italia and Megger and I'm happy - they also go with ordinary batteries.

Calibration of a new purchased meter is a mere fraud.
Does the manufacturer's quality control not work - do they sell shortages?
There is no such concept as calibrating a new meter.
If we check the old meter, it's a different story.

Right away, when I bought Metrel I immediately got a set of documents, such as a checking certificate or calibration certificate - calibration etc. Everything was included in the price. Among other things, that's why I decided on this company. If they told me to pay extra for something obvious, I would give up their company.

buying new meters I ALWAYS received a test certificate.
The certificate specified checks that were related to state standards and gave reference instruments (name, type, manufacturer)
A friend of CYRUS will buy a meter for testing electrical installations, he will find out.

Not always. I was buying a meter and it wasn't.

Well - meter and meter is a big difference.
Multimeters do not have calibration certificates.

Thank you for your interest in the topic.
    I have pre-selected:
    electric installations meter KEW6016 + tester KT171,
PROTON + PRO Electrical Testing and Measurement + Electrical sketches,
    BM235 multimeter,
    TM202 light meter.

I am asking for opinions of the above mentioned products. :)
