    Hello,
The questions relate to single-family homes.
Is it true that German installations do not use "flat" cables?
What is the connection point (who does it)?
    Where is the meter mounted?

I have not met such on their construction sites.

But they don't use because no, is there a ban on them?

    Flat or what?
From what I know, the equivalent of our YDYt-Żo or NYIF-J (stegleitungen) is allowed but with restrictions, i.e. allowed in dry rooms, can be laid only in plaster or under plaster, glued or on plastic handles. Cannot be stacked on flammable materials and in dry construction racks. In practice, no one uses it anymore. I haven't seen the Polish equivalent of YDYp or our cable manufactured for VDE.

Until now, I only met counters inside. In single-family buildings in the switchgear and multi-family buildings in the basement or on staircases. Cable connectors with protections also inside, right after the cable is introduced into the building or rarely in a box outside.

    Aged but common cable connector:

    Counters in a multi-family building:

    Selective overcurrent protection (or fuses):
German Electrical Installation: Single-Family Homes, Flat Cables, Connection Points, Meters

    One-family houses:

Can such switchgears with space for a meter be bought somewhere in Poland? Who makes the connection to such a switchgear?

You can buy it, but in new installations it is unlikely to pass.

What do the zones of cable routing in German installations look like? Are they the same as in Poland?

Topic summary

In the discussion regarding German electrical installations in single-family homes, it was noted that flat cables are generally not used, with the common type being NYM cables. While flat cables are permitted under specific conditions, they are rarely utilized in practice. Connection points are typically located inside the building, with meters usually mounted in switchgear for single-family homes or in basements/staircases for multi-family buildings. The conversation also touched on the availability of switchgears with meter space in Poland and the challenges of compliance with new installation standards. The routing zones for cables in German installations were questioned, with a follow-up indicating the topic was closed after installation completion.
