I have a FERRO BSTC11 bathtub faucet, for some time the chrome shower switch has been working very hard. What key to unscrew this switch in order not to scratch the chrome surface and is there a gasket that needs to be bought and replaced and is it necessary to lubricate with some oil? The battery is of course already after a 5 year warranty.

This is an eccentric type (switches by 1/4 turn). They like to walk quite hard, because it is tightly fitted, and there are tight seals (orings), but the switches are quite durable. The switch lever itself is screwed with a small nut to the axle (a suitable wrench for the size of the nut). Complete disassembly is also possible - you need to unscrew the fork base (by the clip, but through the rubber to not damage the chrome) or the spout (this requires unscrewing the battery from the wall, otherwise the rotation will not be done) and the entire piston or eccentric can be replaced (or at least seals ). You can always use silicone teflon grease (installation ointment).

It was necessary to unscrew the whole battery and lubricate everything as it should. There was a lot of spinning up, because everything is well matched.
