I warmly welcome. I have a problem. Recently, a friend gave me an Xbox 360 Fat version. Year of production 2008. The console was running normally until one day the drive started to go crazy. Sometimes an attempt to eject with the button gave nothing and you had to click several times and similarly with closing.
I got it and decided to run it, the more so because I have one at home with a damaged drive.
Initially I wanted to swap drives and make a spoof but found it better for me to see inside.
I dismantled the drive, no dust, no dirt etc. I came to the conclusion that I will try to replace the motor with the tray eject.
So I desoldered a working Benq motor from my drive and soldered it to the drive from my friend's console. The drive that sits here is Philips & Lite on.
Tries to see what's going on and nothing. I did not put the belt on the engine wheel to see if the engine was running. By pressing the button, the console signals Opening and pressing Closing again, but the engine is stationary.
Closing or opening is all the time, i.e. if I press eject, the opening is endless. I found that I would eject the tray by hand all the way and then the console should see that the drive is open, but it doesn't.
Please give me some suggestions:
- I can check if there is voltage to the motor to check if it is in working order, but please give me what the value should be.
- what about the opening / closing sensor? It's not that even though I opened the drive manually, it should detect that it is open?
I don't know if I understand correctly but there are two yes? They remind me a bit of a limit switch. Now the question is whether one signals closing and the other opening? Do they both signify the same? ie if the drive is open, both are short-circuited and when it is closed they are short-circuited?
