Satel Integra 128 with ETHM-1: Browser Ignores Tag and Java Installation Queries

Best answers

How can I fix the ETHM-1 web interface error saying my browser is ignoring the tag and I need to install Java?

Use an older browser/Java combination, because the ETHM-1 web interface depends on a legacy Java applet that newer browsers and newer Java versions block [#16350337] One user reported it only started working after uninstalling the current Java and installing a version lower than 8, while another got it working on Windows 10 with Internet Explorer 11 and Java 8u131 [#16350337][#16517411] Adding trusted-site exceptions usually does not solve it [#16350337] If you only need control and not the browser UI, the forum suggests using GuardX or the mobile apps instead of the web interface [#16340043]

    Hello,
This time I have a bit of a strange problem, I have configured the Integra - ETHM - Router connection, so I can see the ETHM-1 login panel locally via 192.168.0.101:8085, but after entering the port and password, it gives me the following error: " Your browser is ignoring the tag! Install JAVA! ", I tried many ways, but I didn't find anything, maybe someone of you had a similar problem?

For me it is like this on all browsers (FF, GC, IE), on all computers (3 x Win7 64bit / 2 x Win10 64bit) and on phones (Android / Windows) - no versions of Java (32/64 bit) and no way to install them.

On PC I only use GuardX.

Browser support has not been working for a long time, and Satel doesn't care.

I changed the port to 80. I added the site to trusted sites in chrome and still nothing.

Can it be controlled via the app?

    @xury
Why do they sell ETHM modules if they can't make them properly? :(

I did not have the opportunity to check the functionality of the control via www, but ZTCW to GuardX gives more possibilities.
Via www you have access to the virtual keypad and all control/control is done by this keypad, and in GuardX you have the facility map visualization module, event history module, users module and virtual keypad.

I know, but the problem is that ultimately the system is on a plot and I would like to be able to turn it ON / OFF from a house several hundred kilometers away (and through GuardX, as far as I know, it's just a cable), I'll try to configure the application, we'll see what happens come out. :)

New browsers "ignore" Java for security reasons - probably if you used some older version of FF/IE 32bit it would work.
Satel, probably due to little interest in remote control via www, did not change the technology and the system "died".

Currently, control from a computer via GuardX and from a phone via (Integra Control / MobileKPD-2 Pro+) gives much more functionality than control via the web. It is true that when controlling via www, it could be done from any computer (without installing additional software), but entering IDs / passwords on random computers is not very safe and you can install GuardX on your own computer and work - additionally, in the era of smartphones, most users probably prefer to have access from the mobile application.
I'm just wondering why Satel doesn't provide an application for Windows Mobile ;(

    What cable?
Both computer applications (GuardX / DloadX) and mobile applications (Integra Control / MobileKPD-2 Pro+) work remotely - if you properly configure the ETHM module and link (router), you can log into the system from any place / device - e.g. from a computer in home several hundred kilometers away or from the phone while standing on the street in front of the plot...

For what you need (arm/disarm) both are OK.
MobileKPD seems to be no longer supported by Satel - it has even been removed from their website and the last version on Google Play is over a year old.

    One more problem...
A few days ago I was configuring the control panel from the computer, yesterday I did a reset to the mouth. factory computer and now I have a problem.
When connecting the control panel to DloadX (via cable), I get the following error:
Satel Integra 128 with ETHM-1: Browser Ignores Tag and Java Installation Queries

Anyone know what to do to make the control panel remember that this is the computer from which it will be programmed?
I will only add that this is the latest version of DloadX

    ///Succeeded, for the future:
Communication -> Communication configuration -> Rewrite IDENT. Integra, GuardX, DloadX.

Since you have reset the computer/software, you have probably also reset the saved identifier - check which control panel identifier you have set and set it in the DloadX program.

    One more question.
How to connect the control panel to the PC via LAN using the ETHM-1 in the latest version of DLOADX?
Where should i enter the ip etc?

I entered the control panel data (and imported the previous settings) in Communication -> Communication Configuration and I have ...
I am connecting to the server: 192.168.0.101:7090
    Connection failed.
    Disconnected.

    or

I am connecting to the server: 192.168.0.101:7090
    Makes a connection
    Module: ETHM-1 V1.07
The control panel ended the call

    Disconnected.

    e.t.c...

Similarly, in GuardX, Downloading is disabled. What to do?

ETHM1 modules via browser require old version of JAVA in
    version 7.
This is due to the fact that when they were designed, the old version of JAVA was in force and in newer versions it is not possible to change the security level to a lower one, therefore it throws a connection error or the browser automatically blocks the connection for security reasons. Adding exceptions to the latest version of Java and other tricks don't help. It helps only to uninstall Java and install its old version lower than 8 which you must have or download from the Internet. Then everything runs. Tested by me on many computers and operating systems.

    Quote:
How can I control when and how untrusted applications or applets run in my web browser?
    The article concerns:

    Java software versions: 7.0, 8.0

Java 7u10 introduces the ability to manage when and how untrusted Java applications (i.e. applications that are digitally signed by an unknown publisher or come with a certificate that is not issued by a trusted certification authority) are launched, if they are attached to the website. By setting the security level (in the Java Control Panel), you determine whether:

The user will be notified before an untrusted Java application is launched (MEDIUM or HIGH), either
Untrusted applications will be blocked and not run (VERY HIGH).

Starting with Java 7 Update 51, applets that do not comply with the latest security practices may still be authorized to run; to do so, put their sites on the Exception Site List.

Starting with Java 8 Update 20, the "Medium" security setting level has been removed from the Java Control Panel. Only "High" and "Very High" levels are available.

The site exception list allows users to allow applets - which would be allowed by selecting the Medium level - based on specific sites, thereby minimizing the risk of using less restrictive settings.

Enter all control panel identifiers correctly in the connection settings, all GUARDX and DLOADX keys and be sure to connect the ETHM1 module to the RS port socket of the control panel, preferably with the factory one:
    RJ/PIN5
    http://www.satel.pl/pl/product/334/RJ/PIN5,Ca...el-with-RJ-socket-and-module-with-PIN5-socket
because those made by hand rarely work, there is always something wrong or wrongly connected.

Thank you very much, everything works as it should. I was hoping this page had more features than just a manipulator, but it's not bad. I was about to sell ETHM-1 to someone, but I will keep it for myself :)

Do you know if you need a public IP address to be able to remotely control the alarm from anywhere in the world, or can it be done without a public IP address?

    One more little problem...
Generally, I can connect from the phone, via the website and via the local network with GuardX, but with DloadX there is no chance.
When trying to connect to DloadX, an error appears:
    Łączę z serwerem: 192.168.0.104:7090
    Nawiązuje połączenie
    Moduł: ETHM-1 V1.07
    Centrala zakończyła połączenie

    Rozłączono.

I have the original 5pin - 5 pin cable, connected.
    Downloading disabled.
Do you have any suggestions to solve this problem?

    Additionally:
In the integrated I have 8# control set and one output assigned (BI), when I enter the Integra Control application (android) and enter 8#, a message pops up: There are no outputs to control.
    What to do?

ETHM Plus with the latest firmware does not need a public IP

FAQ

TL;DR: Over 95 % of current desktop browsers block Java applets [Google, 2016]; "Browser support has not been working for a long time" [Elektroda, xury, post #16339966] Use Internet Explorer 11 + Java 8u131 or Java 7, or switch to GuardX/Integra Control.

Why it matters: Without a compatible Java-browser pair, ETHM-1’s web keypad stays inaccessible.

Quick Facts

• Chrome 45+ and Firefox 52+ removed the NPAPI Java plugin entirely [Google, 2015]. • ETHM-1 HTTP service listens on ports 80 and 8085 by default [Satel “ETHM-1 Manual”]. • DloadX/GuardX remote programming uses TCP 7090 (configurable) [Satel “DloadX Help”]. • Factory RJ/PIN5 RS cable length: 0.3 m; price ≈ €4 [Satel Product Sheet]. • Integra Control mobile app is free; latest Android update 2022-10-04 [Google Play].

Why do I see “Your browser is ignoring the tag! Install JAVA!”?
Modern browsers block the Java NPAPI plugin, so the ETHM-1 applet never launches. Chrome, Edge, and current Firefox versions disable it entirely, triggering the message even if Java is installed [Elektroda, Ten Tego…, #16339431; Google, 2015].

Which browser-Java combinations still work with ETHM-1?

Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10 with Java 8u131 or any Java 7 release still loads the applet [Elektroda, adam.ap, post #16517411] Old 32-bit Firefox 52-ESR plus Java 7u80 also works, but security updates stop at 2018 [Mozilla ESR note].

How do I safely run the ETHM-1 web keypad?

  1. Install Java 7u80 (offline installer). 2. Open Java Control Panel > Security, set level to High and add http://192.168.0.101 to the Exception Site List. 3. Launch Internet Explorer, browse to http://192.168.0.101:8085, and accept the applet prompt. Total time ≈ 4 minutes.

Is there a risk in using an old Java runtime?

Yes. Oracle reports over 180 documented CVEs patched after Java 7u80; unpatched runtimes remain vulnerable [Oracle Security Advisory, 2022]. Isolate the computer or use a virtual machine to reduce exposure.

What are my alternatives to the web interface?

Use GuardX or DloadX on PC and Integra Control or MobileKPD-2 Pro+ on smartphones. They communicate through the same ETHM-1 but provide richer functions like event logs and user management [Elektroda, Koola, post #16340013]

Do I need a public IP address for remote access?

No, ETHM-1 Plus with the latest firmware uses Satel servers (STS) to tunnel traffic, bypassing NAT and dynamic IPs [Elektroda, mayer2005, post #16537124] Standard ETHM-1 requires port-forwarding or VPN if you lack a public IP.

DloadX says “Module connected – Control panel ended the call”. How do I fix it?

Match the IDENT numbers in DloadX to those stored in the panel: Communication > Communication Configuration > Rewrite IDENT (Integra, GuardX, DloadX) [Elektroda, Ten Tego…, post #16340245] A wrong IDENT instantly terminates the session.

Which cable should connect ETHM-1 to the RS port?

Use Satel’s factory RJ/PIN5 lead. Hand-made cables often swap RX/TX or omit ground, causing intermittent failures [Elektroda, Rob888, post #16350337]

Why does the Integra Control app show “There are no outputs to control”?

Enable “Quick control” in Structure > Hardware > Keypads > ETHM-GuardX/Mobile KPD. Without it, 8# commands reveal no outputs [Elektroda, mayer2005, post #16537124]

Browser workaround failed—any edge cases?

Edge case: Some corporate PCs load 64-bit Java while IE runs in 32-bit mode. The mismatched architectures block the plugin even with correct versions. Install 32-bit Java to resolve this [Oracle FAQ].

How many simultaneous GuardX sessions can ETHM-1 handle?

Typical firmware allows two concurrent TCP sessions: one GuardX/DloadX and one mobile or web client [Satel “ETHM-1 Manual”]. Exceeding this disconnects the first user.

Why does adding the site to Chrome’s trusted list not help?

Chrome ignores Java settings because the NPAPI framework was removed at source code level; trusted-site lists affect only ActiveX and Flash, not Java [Google, 2015].
