Hello! I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 version 5.0.2 Lollipop. The smartphone is not branded, bought on the free market. Well, I would like to upgrade to version 7.0 Nougat. The only question is whether I could check in the phone if there is a possibility of updating? So far, from time to time I have received messages with the possibility of upgrading to version 6.0 Marshmallow but I rejected them because I do not want this version. In the tel settings, I tried the manual update and started to download updates weighing about 1400mb, there was no message what these updates were so I turned off because I would not like to update the phone to version 6.0. Please help me, how can I check if it is possible to update to 7.0? Maybe it's better to wait when the message comes by itself? greetings

Wait for updates, in the meantime you can update to 6.0 nothing will happen to you. For now it is only in other countries with the Vodafone brand.

Check for updates with SamFirm. It will search for a 3rd or 4th file driver - this is the best way to update. MM is in version 6.0.1, i.e. after corrections to +, in particular there is an improvement in terms of battery, so I think it is worth replacing the older lollipop with 6.

I updated to version 6.0.1 and everything went OK. Even my settings from the previous version were saved. A more pleasant look that feels like the smartphone is bigger. It's also cool to play with what I have until the update to 7.0 comes. Thanks for the helpful tips. greetings

Did you update via OTA, or did you upload Odinem rom downloaded by SamFirm? Because if you are updating via OTA, it's worth doing wipe data.

Sorry but I have no idea what OTA or Odin is :D I downloaded the same SamFirm what you entered but it is probably damaged or something because it does not go to unpack it.
I made the update to version 6 manually from the options in tel.
And I don't know what wipe data is all about

Annex corrected. In the model field enter, for example, G920F - if you have one. For this model it is 7.0, for France, but it has our XEO region, so everything will be ok. As for Odin, I refer here: http://forum.android.com.pl/topic/101567-odin-flashowanie- Koreinalnych-romów- samsunga-za-using-odina / As for the S6 is: http://forum.android.com.pl/forum/1408-rom-y-m modifiedacje/ there you have the description of SamFirm etc. As for the update to 7.0 itself: http://forum.android.com.pl/topic/311616-n-70-pda-g920fxxu5eqac-xef/?page=25#comment-5029432
