    Hello all.
I am looking for a table drill up to PLN 1000. It will be used in a home workshop with the main emphasis on knivemaking, but new ideas are born in my head and I am looking for something certain.
I would like to know what categories should I consider when choosing it?
From what I know, it will probably be a stimulant, because in newer it is hard to find a solid one at this price. I know they recommend WS15 WS16 but they are over budget.
Can you look for some replacements? Are there a lot of imports from Germany? Is it worth investing in something like this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If it's not worn out, it's worth it, but it's not worth buying a Chinese for PLN 550.

I have, and the internet would not be enough to write about construction errors in it.

Up to a thousand zlotys is from industrial (WS, Flott), rather for renovation.
Sam, recently, after a long search, I tend to buy (edit: I bought, waiting for submission). MacAllister 700 W
Overall, only pluses: Powerful motor, 3-year warranty, speed control 210 - 3040 rpm, Morse taper MT2, quality rather correct.
    Cons: Chinese.

You can also have a special holder for a hand drill. The cheapest about PLN 70 (but these are not good). Such better mounts are 200-300 PLN. It works (almost) like a bench drill and uses a hand drill (available at tech stores).

The word is almost the key here :-)
I just had enough quinol for 500zl castorama and it works pretty well for its price, used for drilling in plexiglass :D

This cheapest solution does not work - it is cumbersome to operate compared to a real table drill. Maybe more expensive mounts are better.

I bought quinola (Ermann) out of the need of the moment. It stood still when drilling a 2.5mm flat bar with a 6mm drill! I gave up on the next day. Total crap. Greetings.

@ PEPE64 - Provide for the future what model it is, not only the manufacturer.

@tomiok, I don't even remember. As I wrote above, I bought it out of necessity. I had a few things to drill, and I had hand-held stuff that wasn't too handy ;) I took the assembly out of the box, tried to drill something, disassembled it, put it in the box. I didn't even have time to get close to her. :(

@ PEPE64 -Since you bought and returned, there are documents etc.
    But your business.
In the future, I would be very grateful for posting more detailed information.
The name of the manufacturer itself does not give anyone anything.

@tomiok, I was buying on the market for about PLN 300. There are no documents, but if you care so much, I'll check it, because he's still dealing with this guy. Greetings.

However, I would insist on WS-13 to WS-16. You can buy it for a thousand if you search.
If you insist on Chinese, check the copy carefully before buying. First of all, check that there is no play between the spindle sleeve and the body. Most of them have a lot of play, which cannot be removed by anything, and this play disqualifies the machine, because it will vibrate when drilling holes of larger diameter. Unfortunately, 99% have a lot of slack in this place, regardless of whether it costs PLN 200 or PLN 1200. Pay attention to this detail.

    Good luck!

An unaware friend bought a Chinese one and it was easy from the beginning. She worked for herself ... but it's time to buy another one. He's currently checking different models (on a store shelf) and it's better.
But the question is will it not come up soon?
It checks by extending the spindle as far down as possible and laterally moving the drill.

How is WS parts? They are available or only by dismantling the old ones or by ordering in a workshop

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around finding an affordable bench drill for knifemaking within a budget of PLN 1000. Users suggest that while models like WS15 and WS16 are recommended, they often exceed the budget. Alternatives include industrial models such as MacAllister with a 700 W motor and adjustable speed, though concerns about quality due to Chinese manufacturing are raised. Some participants mention using special holders for hand drills as a cost-effective solution, but express dissatisfaction with their performance. The importance of checking for play in the spindle sleeve and body is emphasized to avoid vibration issues during drilling. Overall, users advise careful consideration of quality and functionality when selecting a drill within the specified budget.
