Hello, I have a Yamaha R-N301 receiver that does not have a USB port, I want to play music via BLU-RAY which is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. The manual says that we connect the TV with the receiver with an optical cable. Now I will post photos. Please tell me which cable to buy. Because the difference is in the sockets.

You can use a COAXIAL cable and test a regular cinch-cinch.
On the TV you connect to the SPDIF output, and in the amplifier to the COAXIAL input.

I repeat, for a test you can use a regular cable with cinch plugs on both ends, I think you have one.
You clearly have it drawn in the manual you enclosed.

Maybe a little of your own invention rather than wait for everything to be served on your plate.

Where is this entrance? What is this store?
Check the TV manual for its inputs and outputs.
In post 8, I incorrectly stated that it may be, is different than I thought.
The method proposed in the store will only get stereo sound, digitally it will be 5.1.
Enter the TV and player model and what do you have connected to the TV and should the TV sound from all sources come through the receiver?

Please, sir, everything is listed at the top with photos. My tv Thomson 32HU2253. I don't have instructions. Stereo or two-channel receiver. I want to play music through BLU-RAY which is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. So I have to connect YAMAHE to the TV. I added a photo. The Lord will give you the name of the cable so that I know what to buy.

Buy a coaxial 1 RCA-1 RCA cable and connect as shown in the drawing provided by you in the way marked in red.
Using the headphone output can be troublesome because inserting a plug into the headphone jack may disconnect the TV speakers.

By connecting to the digital audio connector on the TV you will not be able to control the volume, unless it is an HDMI connector.

The fact that you are playing tv and stereo is a normal matter, disconnecting the speakers in the tv occurs when we connect to the headphones input or select an external audio device on the tv.

    What's your bd player?

BLU-RAY LG BP 135, I can mute the TV. The music that I play through BLU-RAY plays louder than we would play music from the computer. Subject to be closed. Thank you for everything.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connecting a Yamaha R-N301 receiver to a BLU-RAY player via HDMI, with the receiver requiring an optical cable connection to the TV. Users suggest using a coaxial RCA cable for audio output from the TV to the receiver, as the Yamaha R-N301 lacks a USB port. The original poster seeks recommendations for a suitable optical or coaxial cable, expressing confusion over the correct connections and cable types. After purchasing a coaxial cable, the user reports successful audio output but notes that sound levels are low and coming from both the TV and external speakers. The conversation highlights the importance of checking device manuals for input/output specifications and the potential need to mute TV speakers for optimal sound.
